D&D 5E How do you roll, DM?

I think there's a very important psychological aspect to rolling the dice, as it can be used not just as a tool to determine success/failure and damage but as a narrative tool to create tension and bring things that would/could otherwise be ignored into the highlight during the scenes. So...

    D&D 5E 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

Can we safely discard the idea of a proper Forgotten Realms setting book?

    D&D 5E 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

My prediction would be Dark Sun, Spelljammer/Placescape and Ravenloft. I think it's very unlikely for them to print a setting that's basically another Forgotten Realms but just with a handful different characters (or a setting that has been eaten by Forgotten Realms). With the success of Curse...

D&D 5E A First Look at Tasha’s Lineage System In AL Player’s Guide - Customizing Your Origin In D&D

It's a mixed bag for me. I had some really bad experiences with min-maxers on tables I DM/played, even lost a friend because this dude wouldn't stop pestering other players for not building/playing their characters optimally. So, today, every time I see the potential for that sort of stuff to...

Meet the Daughter of Hideous Laughter

In this article, Jeremy Crawford gives a little glimpse of her personality and where she stands when it comes to matters of morality.

Playtest (A5E) Level Up Playtest Document #1: Origins

I guess you missed the "Customizing a Background" a few sections below that (PHB, same page): "You might want to tweak some of the features of a background so it better fits your character or the campaign setting. To customize a background, you can replace one feature with any other, choose any...

Playtest (A5E) Level Up Playtest Document #1: Origins

My thoughts. Even though I like the idea of moving the stat bonuses from the ancestry to the background, I see some potential problems as suddenly characters end up being pidgeonholed into specific backgrounds when making MAD classes... it's the same problem we had with races all over again...

D&D 5E DM Screen 'Wilderness Kit'

I was on the fence on getting the Essentials kit mostly for the cards, now I'm glad I didn't get it. I'm definitely getting this one (even though I already bought 2 shields for the current edition, and probably wouldn't need another one). The art looks gorgeous!

D&D 5E And just like that, no one cares about Frostmaiden any longer

Honestly, the only thing keeping me remotely interested on Rime of the Frostmaiden is the prospect of getting new ice themed spells.

D&D 5E The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

This is the quote from the article: It’s not just the newly updated Artificer that’s officially coming to Cauldron of Everything, however. Taken from the last year of playtesting by the D&D community since their debuts in Unearthed Arcana articles, 22 additional subclasses for each other class...

D&D 5E The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

And they are both on the list, just crossed off as we already have the official printing for those and don't need the UA versions.

D&D 5E The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

Also, I found this link on reddit. People trying to gather all the UA articles that might show up (I don't know their names to give them credit) . Very useful... link

D&D 5E The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

The Nerdarchy article shows the image for the Artillerist Artificer subclass, so I guess that's pretty much confirmed it's in there. EDIT: ninja'ed

D&D 5E Exploring Eberron: Now Available!

Really enjoyed the spin on the aasimar lines. It caught me by surprise (the good kind).
