1.) Shall we make this thread about creating some new spells?

2.) What areas are lacking?

3.) Are there gaps in the current spell lists that need to be filled?

4.) Are certain classes "spell-poor" compared to others?

5.) Are there enough spells that are for specific classes only or do they tend to get over-duplicated from one class to the next (or simply able to be cast by too many classes)?

There are so many spells around, I doubt there are any.

4.) Are certain classes "spell-poor" compared to others?

I actually think that there are too many spell casting classes. The spell-poor classes (bard, ranger and paladin), in my opinion, would be better without spells at all.

I'd like to see a unified spell list. Allow wizards access to things like cure spells, but make them two levels higher or something.

Some sort of Arcane Curing? How would you describe it in game terms and make it fit?

I agree with this; except for bards. For rangers and paladins, spell-casting, until way later levels, is often no more than an extra 1/day ability. I'd prefer to do away with the mechanic entirely and just make certain iconic spells class features; like heal mount, holy sword, tree stride, etc. as part of the level progression.

As to the unified spell list, I've found I really prefer the approach AU takes; one spell list divided up into "easy," "medium," and "hard" spells (simple/complex/exotic), and certain classes get access to a levels of difficulty depending on their focus on spell-casting. Exotic spells can be taken with individual feats, complex spells (if you don't have them) with a feat per level of spells, or you can get them through classes (the greenbond gets positive energy and plant spells of all difficulties, for example) or a smattering of feats (the Psion feat gives you access to psionic-labelled spells).
 

No, no always need new spells. I’ve always favoured changing Tasha’s Hideous Laughter into Ariadne’s Abyssmal Abs … will save or victim must immediately start doing sit-ups.
