Not to disappoint you, this is my second group with the AU chars right now... but no problem :D

It's in the Schwarzwald, about 1 hour from Stuttgart.

First time we were there: ICE STORM :D

Does this remind you of something ;)?

Indeed it does, but I imagine you weathered the storm better than some people ;)

I wouldn't mind gaming for two days, but I'm not in favor of camping on the floor of a game shop. I guess I've gotten a bit "rarified" in my taste since I started working normally in an actual career. Give me a hotel room please.
Same here. 15 years ago, maybe I'd go for the game store campout. Today, however, I'm spoiled by furniture and bathing facilities and expendable income. Now, if it was a bunch of people getting hotel rooms, with a conference room open for gaming the whole weekend, THAT would be okay.

A "mini-con" doesn't sound like a bad idea, but my problems are more of time and money needed. It's a big deal for me to break away twice or three times a year for a game day, and the main reason I have been able to attend our North Carolina Game Days is because I have a family friend in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill triangle, and staying with him costs me nothing but food and gas. :)

As a matter of fact, that would ROCK!

What if we could arrange for a weekend at a castle for about $35 per night per person? Renting the Great Hall would be $200 extra.

I was thinking about a place southwest of Rockford, IL. called the Stronghold.

Damn, that looks and sounds cool. Unfortunately, it's a couple of hours further away than I'd be willing to trek for it. If you do it, though, let us know how it goes! Hmm...now that I think about it, though, I seem to recall my friends talking about a similar place closer to here. I may look into that for those of us in this area...

Wow, that's cool. How much would it cost for me to dress up like an orc and storm the gates while everyone's trying to get their game on? :-D

Three to five, with time off for good behavior... ;)

thalmin - Is the $35.00 figure based on a certain number occupancy? What's the maximum number they can handle? Since you've been there, IIRC, for other events, how long is the drive from G+ to there (which might also be a good estimate from O'Hare Airport)?
