Hello All,
My name is Johnathan White. I am a Proffesional Cartographer with "The International Society of Cartography" in the fields of Historic and Fantasy Cartography / Portolan Art as well as Illustration. I am new to the forum and hopefully posting in the right place.
My work is primarily centered around creating Historic Charts and Maps for specific locations at different periods in time. I also have created a number of works associated with mythical or fantasy locations for Puplishers, authors, and PC gaming companies.
I have done work in the past for a number of movie production companies for titles, "Cutthroat Island", "Horatio Hornblower Series", "Pirates of the Caribbean", and Historic Cartographic Advisor for "National Geographic". Publishing works includes a number of books, magazines, and other material for charts, maps and general illustration. Software companies would include "Origin" for Ultima and Ultima Online, "Hothouse Creations" for "Cutthroats, Terror on the High Seas" and "Flying Labs Software" for the upcoming "Pirates of the Burning Sea" on a pending contract. I have also participated in a number of restoration and recreation projects for Historical Documents and Charts.
I will be more than happy to send digital images of my work to any who request it as my website is currently undergoing some changes. I work as a freelance artist under "Indian Bay Publishing". I have noticed many posts looking for a specialized cartographer and will be happy to assist anyone who needs a cartographer, or the advise of one.
