Might want to make the fang-poison more like a “Venom” effect than a standard poison.

Should be noted somewhere that the fang has a max range of 10 feet, and that it can fire 1d6 per day. those items are in the combat text now, but not sure if they belong in an ability? and, they are immune to darter poison.

Not sure about the touch attack part to initiate an attach… I know that is standard, but for creatures that do this it seems like they are hitting with the same body part that is doing the draining. Not even sure that attach is necessary in the first place, since they only drain from helpless opponents. Regardless, they slash with the claws to deal 1 hp damage, opening a wound from which the snouts allow them to suck the blood.

1-6 hp blood drain seems to equate to 1 Con (or 1d2 Con if you want to be bolder) damage, and a single round of draining seems to satiate them.

I think there is precedence for all of this. I just need to find the critters in question. ;)

Here's a few:

Spikes (Ex): With a snap of its tail, a manticore can loose a volley of six spikes as a standard action (make an attack roll for each spike). This attack has a range of 180 feet with no range increment. All targets must be within 30 feet of each other. The creature can launch only twenty-four spikes in any 24-hour period.

Spike Regeneration (Su): A spinagon can fire two spikes from its body each round. These spikes regenerate within a round, so the spinagon has unlimited ammunition. The spikes have a range increment of 30 feet.

Poison (Ex): A sewerm's "venom" is actually an anesthetic oil secreted through its skin and fangs. This oil prevents its target from feeling pain at the point of contact, even if it is taking hit point damage. The sewerm uses this oil to prevent its victims from noticing its presence while it feeds.

Bite, injury or contact, Fortitude DC 11; initial and secondary damage anesthetic. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Poison (Ex): Sting, Fortitude DC 13, initial damage paralysis for 1d10 rounds, secondary damage 1d4 Str. The save DC is Constitution-based.

I like the manticore spikes as a model, but not the regeneration one. How about:

Fangs (Ex): A darter can fire the fangs that grow within its snout as if they were darts, as a standard action. A darter can fire one fang per round, and this attack has a range of 10 feet with no range increment. The creature can launch only six fangs in any 24-hour period.

Str damage does make sense on the poison, though I would make it weaker. How about:

Poison (Ex): Injury, Fortitude DC 13, initial damage paralysis for 2d4 rounds, secondary damage 1d2 Str. The save DC is Constitution-based and includes a +2 racial bonus. Darters are immune to this poison.

here is a pic, by the way:

a few points i noted earlier...

1 Con sounds reasonable. I can't seem to find the critter I was thinking of that only blood drains helpless creatures. The closest I could find was the cave hallucigenia.
