The Dance of Souls

"Gur is primarilly an archer... and you're a mage. Perhaps the strange dreams are filling you with an unhealthy bloodlust, my friend. Keeping the enemy at a distance and running away if necessary is certainly our best option. Let's attack now, before they spot us."

heh a blood lust? I don't think so. But if we can avoid alerting the entire keep to the presence of intruders by keeping these guards from running. I'd say lets do that. If we attack from range, sure it will keep us safe but those guards aren't just going to stand there while we shoot them. They are going to go get help, and we'll have a large mess on our hands.

But this is merely my opinion.

(You're right)
Attack from a distance it is.

Knight Otu, here's the priority of plans
1. Wait until the leather armor wearer is within 30ft and then start firing until he drops.

If the leather armor wearer is not approaching within 30ft
2. Wait until the splint armor wearer is within 30ft and then start firing until she drops.

If neither is approaching within 30ft
3. Start firing at the leather armor wearer until he drops.

IC: "We will shoot from here. It's safer. On my signal... Now."

surprise crossbow shot (1d20+6=10, 1d6=1)
+1/+1 if within 30 feet. He may also get a +2 bonus for being a "invisible" attacker.
Bolts used: 1, spells remaining 0th: 6, 1st 3

Gur's Initiative (1d20+2=14)

Initiative Order for Surprise Round:

Gur - 14
Beamer - 11
Banion - 5 (Dex)
Azaroth - 5

Gur shoots an arrow at the unsuspecting guard in leather armor, hitting him squarely in the chest (5 damage), while Beamer's bolt just glances the armor. Banion's Mindblade almost hits the heart, but strangely dissipates short of delivering a fatal blow. Finally, Azaroth's magic missile smites the guard with great power, and he grunts from pain. Heavily wounded, the guard remains standing - for now.

I'd swear that was a perfect shot! Banion thinks. What could cause it to do that?

He materializes a mindblade and (if there are still oponents) throws again.

Beamer is a bit shocked as he sees Banion's mind blade vanish just before striking its target. Could he have some kind of magic resistance?

He quickly reloads and fires again (assuming there are still opponents).

OOC:
crossbow shot (1d20+6=15, 1d6=5)
Bonus for point blank shot and being "invisible" not included.
