The Dance of Souls

"Not really. Gur should take the far one, I should take the near one, since his bow has the longer range. Are you mages going to use spells or weapons to start?"

In answer to Banion's question, Beamer loads his crossbow as quietly as possible. He whispers, "My spells are all short range. We should concentrate on one until he falls."

OOC: Knight, if either is moving to within 30 ft of our current position, we would wait until that time before launching the assault.

"Everyone fire on Beamer's mark then. Gur, if we manage to drop the near one, the far one's yours."

Banion will delay acting until immediately after Beamer fires. Hopefully, we will get a surprise round.

Initiative: 1+4=5

(Natural 1. So I guess it's good I wasn't planning to go first anyway!)

ooc: Hey, Slag, back me up here! You want KO to think I'm the only hyperkinetic bouncing off the walls player he's got? Fake some desperation, man!

Hmmm spells would be our best bet though I don't think spells and ranged alone can take care of the guards. If we are going to do this we need to make it so in an instant we can engage the guards in melee. for this we'll need to get down to the ground without being spotted.

I have an idea. Banion this will be an excellent job for you. here's my suggestion. you go down there and I will join you.

Now our biggest concern is making sure those guards don't alert the rest of the keep. With as silent as it is out here one nice call will have any nearby guards on our tail. So if we cut these robes to an extent where we can use them as gags. We will go down two of us on each of those guards. we will all wrestle our targets to the ground and suffocate them with the robes. they won't be able to scream.

This will keep our presence here a secret. We will then have to place the guards in a place where they won't be seen. Perhaps the shadowy corners.

If this works the way I hope it will then we will be able to save ammunition and spells for inside the keep.

what do you guys think?

ooc:Just in the event we have want to act my init is 1d20+1=5 heh thank god we have a surprise round regardless of what we decide to do.

"I think any attempt to close will cause us to be spotted. There's just too much open ground down there. If we shoot from up here, they will still not be able to see us right away. We should have a couple of shots each before they know what's going on." Beamer holds up one of his tiny arms, "I'm not much use for wrestling anyway."

OOC: -5 grapple mod. If we adopt that plan, might as well leave Beamer on the mountain side. He won't be wrestling anyone into submission.

"I'd rather stay up here than get into any sort of hand to hand."

Banion checks the way they climbed up, making sure if things go horribly wrong they can climb down that way.

perhaps then some cleaning up for our plan would do. If anything perhaps gur and I should land on the ground and attack from there. That way in the event its needed we'll be able to engage the enemy in melee.
