More fantasy Lego and Stikfas goodness

Those with long memories (or the search function!) will know that I've posted pics of some of my fantasy Lego and Stikfas kit-bashes/MOCs before. Here are a few more that I've only recently had time to photograph.

If you want to attempt a knowledge (Lego) check, you can try and list the non-Lego parts in each Lego pic!

Comments, especially positive ones, are also welcome.

Very cool. We use Lego for our minis in our tabletop Iron Heroes game - here's my character.

Sigard.jpg

Knowledge (Lego) rolled:

Pic 1 - The middle guy's staff and pet
Pic 2 - The left-hand dwarf's axe and all of the middle guy's kit
Pic 3 - The lizardman's shield (where did the lizardman come from, btw?)
Pic 4 - The middle guy's sword
Pic 5 - The left-hand guy's helmet and armour, the middle guy's helm/mask
Pic 6 - The left-hand knight's sword, shield, and helm, the woman's shield

Post 2, Pic 1 - All Stikfas
Post 2, Pic 2 - All Lego
Post 2, Pic 3 - The middle guy's lightning bolt
Post 2, Pic 4 - The skeleton's...whatever that is he's holding
Post 2, Pic 5 - All Lego
Post 2, Pic 6 - All Stikfas

I recognise some of the kit from these pictures (greatsword from Post 2, Pic 3 and the curved swords from Pic 5 particularly standing out) as being from an American website that did sets of armour and weapons, but they were sold out every time I checked. I think I got the link off one of your older Lego threads which has since vanished...

Cool

Perhaps surprisingly, I've never used Lego for D&D although I have thought about it.

A valiant effort! Here's how you did:

Pic 1 - The middle guy's staff and pet
Right and wrong. ;)
The staff is indeed not Lego but the black dragon hatchling is. It's from the Harry Potter range IIRC. Also, there are a couple of non-Lego parts in that pic that you missed.

Pic 2 - The left-hand dwarf's axe and all of the middle guy's kit
Correct about both but again you missed a couple of non-Lego parts I'm afraid.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Pic 3 - The lizardman's shield (where did the lizardman come from, btw?)
Correct! The lizardman upper body and head are from the Lego Batman set Hunt for Killer Croc.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Pic 4 - The middle guy's sword
Correct but you missed a couple.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Pic 5 - The left-hand guy's helmet and armour, the middle guy's helm/mask
Correct but you missed a few - or did you? Your question below about where I got stuff suggests that you spotted a few more non-Lego parts in this pic. But there are even more than that.

Correct but again, you missed a few.

Sleeping Dragon said:
Post 2, Pic 1 - All Stikfas
Correct! Strickly speaking, Dwarfette's sword isn't Stikfas but it isn't Lego either.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Post 2, Pic 2 - All Lego
Correct! There are non-Lego parts but only the minifig's. The giant bat is entirely MOC out of Lego.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Post 2, Pic 3 - The middle guy's lightning bolt
Correct but there's also the greatsword you mention below which isn't Lego. There are other non-Lego parts but because of my poor photography, you can't see them well so they're almost impossible to recognise as non-Lego (DC 35). I doubt that even people who work for Lego would have spotted them. However, IRL they're easy to see.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Post 2, Pic 4 - The skeleton's...whatever that is he's holding
Correct! Dr Voodoo's feathered spear is converted Stikfas.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Post 2, Pic 5 - All Lego
Correct! It's the same bat from post 2, pic 2.
Sleeping Dragon said:
Post 2, Pic 6 - All Stikfas
Correct!

The red dwarf's axe is Megabloks. Some of the other non-Lego parts are from
http://armothe.com/brickforge/ . Armothe's Brickforge is a really cool store. Their service is top class as is the quality of their parts. They deliver by airmail to the UK at very reasonable airmail P&P rates. Some of the other parts are from Little Armories in the US but unfortunately they only do sci-fi now. Lastly, there are are a few parts from various ebay sellers and from a Japanese toy. All the rest are either Lego or Stikfas.

Well I did pretty well...we've been using Lego in our campaigns for a while now, ever since I brought my collection of minifigs and equipment over here from Canada. Only problem is the relative lack of nonhuman bits, making things a bit weird when we use normal figures for constructs or monsters, but it's better than using dice or tokens and gives me something to do in combat when it's not my turn.

It was Little Armories that I was thinking of - pity that they've stopped doing fantasy gear. Now drooling over the BrickForge stuff - I recognise a few of the non-Lego bits I missed in the pictures.

This may be sacrilage for there but I have discovered the Megoblok Dragon series. Sizes work from Large (though big), Huge and Garganturan.

And for 4-9 dollars.

Comes with a plastic egg and yoke sack.

Eberron will use these for other things I suspect :D

Don't worry, it's not sacrilegious. ;) I have three MegaBlok dragons one of which is being ridden by a Lego antipaladin (not pictured above).

In fact, I have a whole bunch of fantasy toys from different makers. I only photograph the Lego and Stikfas ones because those are the only ones that both look cool and are modular and therefore customisable. There's really no point of me taking a pic of one of my McFarlen (sp?) dragons, for example: the company that makes them already has professional pics of them online.

I also have some superhero and sci-fi toys but not many. Mostly, I collect fantasy ones. :)

Happy new year!

I have most of series 1 Megablok dragons that fill in the Huge size. I have a red and what can pass as a bronze or brass garg dragons also.

For McFarlane, I have only one of his. Series 2 or 3 white colored dragon. Tempted to repaint it green. It looks more like a pale Green Dragon of Garg size.

Also have skeletal dinosaurs that work very well and misc comicbook stuff.

Very nice, we used Legomen for years before D&D Miniatures.

My favorite is picture 5-the middle guy dual wiedling the scimitars with the "screaming" face.
