Lingual and Political Maps for Greek New World Setting

Sir Elton

First Post
Since one can get many comments on the General Board than on the Plots and Rogues board; tell me. How do you like these two maps for my Greek New World Setting?

Elton.

Can you make your images a bit smaller? I would be glad to comment on them if they weren't so huge.

I'd like to, but . . . You won't be able to see any of the words legibly.
:) On second thought.

Much better. Very nice. As a player I might want a little clearer definition of political boundries (even if its approximations). Might help if you give a little more detail of your setting. Are these colonies? Or are they just analogous cultures using North America as a map?

Colonies. :)

Yeah, I will define some boundaries. But it will be easier with a map of a much smaller area, I believe. The Atlantean League replaces the Hopewell Culture, and the Sybaris Hegemony repaces the Adena Culture.

Ah, in that case, other than the cultural replacements, why have them so far north? Celtic colonies make sense in the North Atlantic but I would suspect that Greek based civilization to be further south -rangining anywhere from Central/South America to the Gulf -while Atlantean could be just about anywhere but Florida/Carribean/Gulf seems more apporpriate to me.

Well, if you arent willing to share them don't expect useful feed back. If you are then people will be willing to discuss them with you.

I love to discuss them, but it gets fuzzily into discussing what my religion is. The secular reasons are simple as to why I'm putting the Atlantean League in with the Hopewell Culture.

* The Hopewell Culture is not frequently discussed or gains much attention in the Archaeological Community of North America.

* The Hopewell and Adena Cultures is an advanced civilization built on Wood.

* By replacing them with Greeks in a Fantasy World, I hope to get more archaeologists to take the Hopewell and Adena cultures much more seriously.

Here is a better political map of the region. If you want the larger one, just say so. :)
