Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

Gildrim leads the party back in and to the first interior room to the left. Ter-raen cautiously pushes open the door while Erf holds high the magical candle. Well, sort of high. Actually, most of the light goes through Ter-raen's legs, but it works well enough to illuminate the room.

Inside is a room clearly meant for temporary storage. There are warped shelves all along one wall, while the other wall contains rows of hooks, some with fragments of threadbare cloth still hanging from them. The far wall is full of square cubbyholes, some of which contain the rotted remains of boots. Out of one such, however, a pair of bright yellow boots peeks out, which do not show the same signs of age.

"Hou is it Ah cannae dae that?" Gildrim mutters. "Ah've askit! If Ah coud Ah micht hae taken a leuk at th' stane afair it ett Cyian. Sae Ah'm askin' again, Grendath!"

"Sae, whit de ye see, Erf?" he asks.

[sblock=Erf]The boots are magical. You are able to identify the aura as faint transmutation. There are no other unfamiliar magical auras in range.[/sblock]

"Oooh, they're magic! Somekind of transmutation! Maybe one of us should put them on, they might make you faster or some such! Of course we'd need a Wizard to tell us exactly what they do."

The little gnome shrugs,

"Anyway which way next?"

"Ay coorse they're fur transpertation! Whit else are boots fur? Ah'm willin' tae risk puttin' them oan. Ah've a hankerin' tae be fester. Ter-raen has lang legs an' ye've Fennen tae carry ye."

Gildrim peers dubiously at the boots. "Pity aboot th' yellae, but." He picks them up gingerly and shakes them upside down. He steps forward, intending to pick them up gingerly and shake them upside down.

As Gildrim approaches the boots, he hears a loud, distinctly reptilian hissing, and smells a whiff of ozone, both from the direction of the boots.

No snakes are visible. By craning heads and moving lights around carefully, you can see into most of the corners of the cubbyholes, and still don't see anything. The most likely place for the source of the sound is inside the boots themselves.

"Transmutation?" remarks Ter-raen, wondering about the boots. "My si... it is changing magic correct? Maybe it change the wearer into the snake?"
