Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

"Works fer me Gildrim, I'm just glad we didn't have to harm the poor little fella." Erf sneaks a peek as gildrim puts the creature away, if possible, if not he asks the dwarf to describe the lizard.

Gildrim takes the pack with its cargo of boots and lizard outside, and carefully dumps out the lizard, which Erf can then see clearly. From its markings Erf recognizes it as a shocker lizard, a magical creature that can defend itself by producing electric shocks.

After being separated from the cold boot, the lizard quickly shows signs of stirring.

Erf snatches the boots and hurridly flings them into Gildrim's bag.

"Run, now! If you don't want to be electrocuted!" The gnome whispers urgently and hurries Fenenn towards the house. Dismounting he gets ready to shut the door behind the last of his companions, and will attempt to do so quietly if things do not look too urgent.

The heavy iron-bound door booms shut, but doesn't shut firmly. Some unruly souls seem to have broken the bar and the latching device. Nonetheless, after a few breathless minutes, no angry lizard attacks. A cautious peek outside reveals that the lizard is no longer where you left it, and is out of sight.

"Shut th' door tae th' boot closet tay, will ye, sae as we're nae fasht if th' lizard can come back in throu a hole in th' fluir we didnae see."

Gildrim sits down on the floor. He draws out the boots and gives the left one a deep sniff. "Weel noo. Nae sae bad. Mah ain are likely worse. Ah'm goin' tae gie them a try." He repacks his trail rations and stows away his own boots before putting on the new ones.

"Richt. Let's see if onythin's changed." He takes a few tentative steps, tries a jump, and runs about the room in a circle.

The boots prove to fit quite nicely, and as Gildrim finishes pulling them on, they seem to contract snugly around the ankles, supporting without limiting mobility. He jumps slightly higher than he remembers ever doing before, and when he runs in circles, he feels a bit less likely to slip and fall than usual.

Gildrim frowns. "Did ye think Ah wis any faster? Ah didnae think sae. It leuks like they're fur jumpin' in. Whit guid is that? Ah'm a dwairrf. We're nae built fur jumpin'. Th' quaisten is, woud we dae better tae shore up ane ay mah few weak points, or woud we dae better tae gie them tae th' ane wha's awready th' best at leapin'? Ach, it's quite clear tae me."

Gildrim starts pulling off the boots. "Haur, Ter-raen - ye hae a gang wi' them."

"Wow they fit like magic!" Erf observes redundantly.

"Well lets go and check out the remaining rooms on this side." The little gnome heads off to the nearest unopened door on the left side of the building and cautiously opens it - provided his companions do not object.

Fenenn trots along dutifully his tongue lolling, wondering why they are not going to see te nice lady Erf wants to mate with.

OOC: I can only imagine what a confusing jumbled mess of emotion Fenenn has gotten through the bond recently...
