"Hang in there, Alex," Quagmire calls. "We've got yer back, mate." He swings again at the seething mass of tiny rats.

"Back to your pit, foul fiends" Girth flung out a hand and a dark blast shot through the rat swarm.

His eyes flickered with barely-repressed madness as the pain of the rat bites shot up his legs.

"Again! Hit them again!"

ooc: that reminds me: I forgot to roll a save against ongoing damage, so here it is: 14

-Brudd moves to attack another rat but misses. Lucky for him, the rat he left decided to keep its attention on Alexander.

-Girth flings dark energies at the swarm, killing off a few of the small rats, but not enough to finish the swarm off as they are still chewing on him. (3 ongoing damage to Girth and 3 damage to swarm from Eldritch Blast. Rat Swarm aura attack missed him. I also rolled a save for Girth and he ended the ongoing 3 damage.)

-The rat swarm tries to bite at Quagmire, but he doesn't let any new ones get to him. The ones that were already there bite him for a little damage though (ongoing 3) before he knocks them off with a brush of his hand. The hobgoblin hits some of the small rats and the swarm looks smaller than it first did. Might be close to breaking ranks and scattering. Quagmire also rallies Alexander's spirits (healed 11 HP's)

-The swarm of rats makes another push and bites primarily at Girth, but he shoos them away and prevents himself from being bitten this time.

-The remaining two giant rats both attack Hrav, but neither can sink its fangs into the bugbear.

-Hrav and Alex can go. Hrav gets hit by the swarm's aura attack for 8 damage, but they miss Alex. Alex takes 3 more from the ongoing damage though. Alex will need another save versus the Ongoing damage at the end of his turn.

-Hrav stabs a few more of the small rats in the swarm and suddenly those remaining scatter and flee beneath the water as the swarm disperses. (Rat Swarm defeated)

laments Alexander as he cuts two more big rats.

Brudd swings on the rat between him and Alex,

"Hadeys guide me blade and if ye are quite finished organizin' fer yer faithful te wade upto their armpits in rats te get anywhere get off yer arse 'n' lend yer divine might te me pal Alex." The Minotaur grumbles prays as he brings his blade around in another great arc tearing through rat flesh with satisfying ease.

OOC: Skipped ahead since Brudd's action was pretty ordained, he may use a Healing Word upon someone after I see the results of the rats attacks though.

-The swarm bites at Hrav once more and draws blood again (the swarm aura attack that was counted before). Hrav returns the favor as he skewers enough of the small rats to break the swarm up at last. The few remaining small rats flee out of sight and disappear.

-Alex slices at the rat between him and Brudd, damaging it (8 damage) and also catching the other dire rat with his swing and killing it. (D2 marked by Alex, D3 killed.)

-The remaining dire rat between Alex and Brudd turns to attack the human, but can't chew through Alex's armor. 1d20+4=18, 1d6+2=4

-Brudd swings his blade hard and finally feels the satisfying crunch of impact as he hits the dire rat between him and Alex (for 12 damage).

-Girth and Quagmire can go...
