the D7 and D9 doesnt realy look fair. The larger sides (7 and opposite side for D7 and 8 and opposite side for D9)have higher probability for coming up than any of its other sides. because it is flat and is perpendicular to any other face- whereas the other faces are only at about a 45 degree angle from other sides, therefore is more likely to roll the side faces, than the flat faces (numbered above)

but the glass d5 looks real cool...

You're probably right about the big pinky-orange D5 and the D9. However, for a particular area of the rectangular sides relative to the area of the end faces, the die would be fair. The small transparent D5 (also inset) is the correct ratio and is fair.

BTW the small D5 is high impact plastic, not glass.

I dunno, the d9's flat face doesn't look completely flat to me. I reckon that the right curvature would make the dice fair.

It's true - they're not completely flat. But I don't think they're curved enough to make them fair.

Just wanted to say hello Zander mate! :D

I trust yoou are well!?

One question though...are there any d14s?

Hello Krusty! ;)

I'm fine thanks. And you?

There are two D14's that I know of. Both are truncated cubes (imagine a cube with its corners cut to form 8 extra triangular faces). One has Chinese characters on it (I don't have one of those), the other is from a British game called CardDice (I do have some of those). The CardDice D14's are heavily chamfered, so they're almost spherical and not obviously truncated cubes. I don't have a pic of them.

Man, these are WAY cool. Nice collection Zander.

Just how do you read the result from the d24 anyway?

[Blush]Thanks muchly.[/Blush]

The angle I took the picture from makes it look like there's no upper face and the lighting makes the numbers difficult to see in the photo. But the die does have an upper face and the numerals are easy to read - just like a conventional D6, 8, 10, 12 or 20.

PS - for some self-deprecating hunour, check out what "Bob" has to say about d24's...

:D

As the authors probably know, there have been D100 for years. I once made a D120 out of paper. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of it. While it was strong enough to roll, it was too fragile to keep.

And just in case you haven't had enough, how about this:
