Malice of the Medusa (pt-1) [Manzanita judging]

Reis sits down lightly, leaning his rapier against the side of the chair. He then yawns, leans back in his chair, and waits for a response.

"Don't trust us? Us??" Killian says shocked. "Why The Detirman Trade Compny could raze that place to the ground if we wanted, but we didn't. We were as cordial as court peacocks, at a ball. We only wanted to see Aedan again but they told us he was gone and that they didn't have a clue as to how or why."

Killian takes a mug from a serving girl as comes hurring over. She places a mug in front of everyone then leaves. He takes a long loud drink, then sitting the mug down he smiles. "Been my turn watching the hospice, been at it since sun up," he says, then takes another drink.

"Now we know Aedan is in there hiding somewhere, probably found a hole to hide in with his two pets." Killian grumbles in his deep voice. "Me and my boys have been keeping an eye out for him should he try to sneak out. And we have not seen him, so he is there." Another drink and Killian sets down the empty pint. "They let you all in so it was good you hired on. You should go back and see if they will let you search the place. Not like Aedan walked far with the way his feet were." Killian finishes with a grimace as if remembering something awful.

"Another!" his deep voice booms.

Midias

"I never said I don't trust you. But if the knew the cause of the lack of trust of the priests, it would be easier to sway them.

What about Aedan's feet?"
Midias answers truthfully and asks in return.

Reis looks up curiously. "What do you mean by Aedan's two pets? We don't know anything about that."

He lifts his mug and peers at its contents for a moment before taking a sip.

"Nor I. It seems dubious that Detirman Company did not inform us Aedan had 'pets' when they sent us to retrieve him. Then again, they also did not tell us Aedan was exactly hiding from them, either." Viktor observed, before falling silent again, thinking on this, and wondering whether or not they should continue the job.

Killian answers everyone in turn as they ask their questions or made a comment.

To Midias h says, "Lack of trust, they are lying to us we have not seen him leave so he must be there no matter what the priest say. As to Aedan's feet," the man shudders again. "You know he was burnt badly, top of his head to the bottom of his feet. He luckly survived and then walked back to Severus, but his feet were bloody blisters that looked liked something nawed on them."

"Wha? Oh his mongoose things," Killian says in answer to Reis. "Yeah he has two little critters about the size of cats, says they are good against all the snakes that live in the desert." Reis takes a drink of the ale and is surprised it is palatable. "They look harmless the few times I've seen them. The company just wants Aedan's information, by the Gods the man can stay hidden till eternity dies twice, but me and my boys are stuck here watching the hospice until he is found and our bonus dwindles everyday those priest refuse to open up." he grumbles angrly.

"You boys need to get back into the compound and search it, that way we can go home you can get paid. What do you say, try again in the morning?" he almost pleads.

Reis shrugs. "Seems fair to me." He yawns again and shifts in his chair. "I think we might as well go back to the hospice in the morning and see if there's anything to find." He stops and waits for the others to respond.

Midias

"And how? We can try again with diplomacy, but what then? Force? Stealth?" Midias asks, but it seems he doesn't like either of the last options.
