Malice of the Medusa (pt-1) [Manzanita judging]

Viktor agreed as well. "Yes, hunting about blindly in the dark would most certainly be foolhardy, though I do feel we can aid Aedan more than we could hinder him." Viktor would simply follow the others, his brain pondering the opportunities, and mulling over his encounter with the skeleton. He was slightly unnerved as he took the time to realized that it was an animated corpse he had been dealing with, and was rather glad he fought it from a distance.

The group bids Brother Darline goodnight, as he escorts them to the front gates of the hospice.

The evening has turned cool as the sun has long since disappeared behind the horizon. Torches at the front of the inn, hospice, and temple make a small pools of light in the area. And the group is surprised that once outside the hospice, one of these pools of light shows four men walking their way.

They all wear nondescript clothing, so much so, that it screams of them trying to hide who they are. Two have cudgels and one has a shortsword, but the fourth man who is twice as large as the others carries a huge blade on his back and approaches the group in earnest.

"Did you find him? So soon, I knew he was still in there." he says in a deep voice.

Reis watches the group approach, and quickly scans over them and their weapons, his half-elven eyes untroubled by the dim light.

After a moment of surprise at the abrupt question, he addresses the swordsman politely, though he is not entirely successful in keeping a hint of apprehension from his voice.

"Well met, friend." He pauses and waves his hand around him to indicate the entire party. "We were just headed to the inn for the night. If you want to talk, perhaps you can accompany us?"

Dane stood with his eyes and ears open. He didn't like the casual way these men were addressing them, and he also didn't like the idea of sitting down to tea with them either. Hopefully, they say no so I can bash their heads out here if need be.

"The inn? Sure you can tell me everything over a mug," the man says smiling. "Brey stay here just in case, but I think we will be heading back to the Trade Company compound soon."

The large deep voiced man turns towards the inn, "Follow me," he says.

Following the stranger into the inn the group finds a beer stained table without a problem. Unstrapling his blade to sit, he gestures for the others to do the same. "I am Killian Faris, a member of the Detirman trade Company. Me an my boys have been watchin the hospice since the day Aedan went in. We sure hopes you found him."

"We got nothing, yet. But the priests don't seem do trust the company. Can you imagine why?" Midias answers truthfully and interested..

Viktor would allow the clerics to do the talking for the most part, wondering what exactly they should do. He'd always thought adventures were fairly clear cut feats of bravery and excitement, not talks with clerks and priests... then again, there was always the threat of someone spontaneously burning to a crisp and rising as a skeleton to attack everyone...
