Dextyr's song of battle rises after he strikes the pale male, encouraging his allies to strike the fiend. Janus shakes off the darkness as he moves carefully forward, but not too close. The woman advances still grinning but making no sound. She tosses shadow around Janus again, and he reels with blood flowing from his eyes and ears. The darkness around her continues and engulfs more as she advances slowly.

[sblock=mechanics] Dextyr hits, so next attack to hit the man gains 3 temp hp for the attacker. Tonk's readied action is triggered so if he moves backwards his initiative is now just before the woman otherwise he is in the shadow. All in the shadow take 5 necrotic at the start of their turns and it is difficult terrain, remember they both have concealment (-2 to attacks) She hits Janus and he is bloodied and can't see well.
Remember you get action points after this encounter and only Tonk and Murphy have used theirs already!

From Previous Round...
The pale woman moves 1 square NW to G9 so that triggers Tonk's readied move action (where you going?).
Tonk darts through the incoming cloud, moving to G5. [Readied Action.]

Current Round...
Mace in hand, Tonk charges into the darkness, striking the woman. [Standard Action: CHARGE! 1d20+8 (base) +2 (CA) +1 (charge) -2 (concealment) =27 v. AC, HIT!; 1d8+5 (base) +1d8 (Vanguard Property) +2d6 (Sneak Attack) +1 (Versatile) =15 damage]

He flips backwards, out of the shadows. [Move Action: Tumble, shift 3 spaces to G6]
 

Murphy draws upon another wisp of shadow to cling to the pale woman and the assassin begins circling around to get a better angle at her.

As he moves, Murphy reaches out and pulls bits of shadows from each one that he passes, some from Dextyr, Larinza, himself, and the trees. Gathering them together into small, daggerlike pieces, Murphy throws the projectiles in rapid succession. One of them slams directly into the woman's chest, the aim deadly accurate.

Standard: Shadow Darts on female - vs Ref; cold damage (more d8's if more than 1 hit) (1d20 5=18, 1d20 5=25, 1d20 5=12, 1d8 1=7, 1d8=5, 1d8=4) So I crit on one of them... ummm... weird rule question, it says if I hit with one attack roll resolve it all as a single hit. So I'll assume the 12 reflex is likely a miss, but the 18 hit. Also, invoke the 2 shrouds, get maxed out so damage is 2d8+1+2d6 maxed out or 29 cold damage + 3 necrotic
necrotic (1d6=3) from crit.

[sblock=KenHood] I'm sure you know this about readied actions, but it doesn't come up much. "Reset Initiative: After you resolve your readied action, move your place in the initiative order to directly before the creature or the event that triggered your readied action." so you now go after the male with Janus and Dextyr (and you avoid the shadow damage) Note (as posted way back and now below) entering the shadow causes the damage and you can't shift as it is difficult terrain.

[sblock=spoiler but look anyway] I have posted some information about the bad guys and their effects intermittently, but there is some confusion so I will again:

Male - AC 20; Fortitude 17, Refl ex 18, Will 15 - if he hits a target that can’t see him, the target is blinded until the end of his next turn.

Woman - AC 21; Fortitude 18, Refl ex 19, Will 19 - Beshadowed Mind (the target
has no line of sight to anything more than 2 squares from it (save ends).
Deep Shadow (thick, writhing shadows surround her. She and any other shadow creatures in the aura gain concealment. In addition, enemies that enter or start their turns in the aura take 5 necrotic damage, and enemies (including flying ones) also treat the area within the aura as difficult terrain.)
