Damn it! Someone could have told me that before approving the character. Now I must wait till 2nd level to retrain this useless feat.

Johanna could hear the threatening hiss from somewhere up ahead, but she could see very little. She took a moment to set her feet and brought her spear up into a ready stance, but that was her only preparation.

OOC: Total defense this round, ready to move in when the path is more clear

A Fight in the Muck: Surprise Round

Sapo Toa Blinks. Then she orients herself facing something to the west. Then, she jumps in the air, landing on the ground next to the sewer course. She walks with her usual sluggish peace, but when he nears her target, a hissing lizard, she takes a spin in the air, swinging her staff to the creature. In the darkness, the strike misses, but now she can see the single lizard is actually a mass of smaller reptiles. Something is... off... about them, but she cannot tell how. [Still a miss.]

Johanna could hear the threatening hiss from somewhere up ahead, but she could see very little. She took a moment to set her feet and brought her spear up into a ready stance, but that was her only preparation.

The creatures spring into action. From around the barrel, a thing emerges. It may have been a lizard, once, but now it nothing but a glaring orb and teeth. Flopping the head attached to the eye around, it stores balefully at the group. The darkness shields Sapo, who only catches a glance sideways while Vimak instinctually closes his eyes. Lhavarr, Elkrysn, and Torqua, however, are overwhelmed by the utter wrongness and stagger wretchedly. [Mutant lizard moves around barrel; uses gaze attack on all but Johanna: Hits L, T, & E. Dazed until end of the mutant's next turn]

The mass of lizards bite continuously at the larger Sapo as it rushes over her. She manages to deflect the nips, but cannot stop them overrunning her. Several of them jump at the dazed Lhavarr, but he manages to shove them off in a panic. [S2: Swarm aura attack misses Sapo; moves through Sapo w/o OA; attacks Lhavarr but misses.]

From the darkness, another mass of lizards slithers out. As it lands in the sewage, the group is startled to see the many pustules on the swarmers. These too leap at the half-elf. Helpless to stop them, they bite and claw him, the ooze from their bodies infecting him. With horror, his left hand begins to sprout their own boils. The infection quickly spreads, distracting the ardent and slowing his reactions! [S1: Moves adjacent to Vimak and attacks Lhavarr: Hits with Vile Infestation; Lhavarr slowed and grants combat advantage (save ends)]

Somewhere in the darkness, two other lizards move about. Sapo hears rather than sees the glob of bile one of them hurls forth and crouches beneath it, but the other splashes squarely on Vimak's armor, eating through it to the sensitive flesh below. [Ranged attack missed Sapo; hits Vimak for 9 acid damage]

[Vimak & Torqua have a surprise action; then Johanna & Sapo's round 1 action.]

[/sblock]Moving from sewer to land and vice-versa costs and extra square. The barrel provides cover. Currently, most of the party is in a pipe; you must move to E4/5 before moving elsewhere in the room; when Torqua does this, the rest of the room will be illuminated. Until then, the room (except for the center pillar) is dark (concealment).

Combat Rules
Actions will be handled in posting order; I will bot folks that don't post within a day using at-wills only. I will post info about the monsters as discovered.

Sapo Toa's uncanny dodge keeps her safe against the continuos assaults from the reptiles. Blinking slowly again, Sapo leaps over the mass of lizards to position herself in front of the half elf in distress. Sinking the large staff on the sewe floor the bullyguw raises herself from the water and from there she attacks the lizards in an incredible display of speed. After that she lowers herself to the water and crouches confortably there, hoping to obstruct any attacks to Lhavarr

Move: shift to D3 Stdr: Use Five storms, shifting 2 to get to E4 and use the close burst attack: 11 and 14 vs lizard swarms for 8 dmg + swarm vuln if any.

Sapo hops around the swarm, positioning herself in the midsts of the vile creatures. She strikes out quickly, but with little luck as the creatures dance around the blows. [Miss both. Already did swarm attack; in the future, everyone who starts next to a swarm needs to roll the swarm attack (included below)]

[Vimak & Torqua have a surprise action; then Johanna round 1 action.]

Shocked by the sudden appearance of the fiendish lizard, Torqua throws an orb of acid at it, scoring no chance to hit as it splashes harmlessly into the wall.

OOC: tried to use Acid Orb againist the monster in E5. Miss badly.
