[Adventure] Marna is Missing (DM: pacdidj, Judge: renau1g)

Mini Update

The southernmost tendril immediately dissipates as the skeleton's arrow zips right through its shadowy form. Meanwhile the dead king reaches a spectral hand through the adjacent thralls face, chilling and scrambling its brains. The eyeless freak twitches and spasms momentarily, then breaks into a mad dash, right past the skin walker's claws. It hurls itself into the air over the canal, and lashes out wildly with its shortsword, inflicting a savage wound upon its comrade. Then as the spell breaks, the maimed dark one has a moment of panic as it finds itself hurtling through the air, which disrupts its flight, causing it to plunge into the canal, bashing its head on the way down. The lifeless form of the thrall is swept immediately downstream by the roaring current.

OOC: Luinnar - Between Jezebel and Sir Exsixten's turns, all the undead except the skin walker have attacked and the skin walker is lying prone with no adjacent enemies. They can all still take a move and a minor action this turn though. I'm guessing you probably won't need rolls for your retconned minors, but if you do you can go ahead and reroll.

Iron Sky - Yeah, it's definitely an appropriately named power. :D I'm not sure what you wanted the skinwalker to attack though, the only thing that was within its reach was the tendril at AH59, but it's dead now. You can go ahead and retcon this if you'd like.

Cyr calls upon Skylord's power to guide his strike and protect his allies. Above Sir Exsixten appears small star that quickly explodes fillin the air with thousands of sharp blades. The blades are already familiar to the group, warforged knows they will protect him from attacks for a short time.

"Get up, proud warrior of eladrins!"

"Your highness, please help our knight!"

[sblock=Actions]
Standard: Blades of Astral Fire vs ref Hound (1d20+7=19)
Blades of Astral Fire vs ref (RT4, AF57 and AG56) (1d20+7=20, 1d20+7=12, 1d20+7=13) - Radiant damage (1d6+6=8)

burst 1 centered above Sir Ex. He gets +4 AC TENT.

Move: Get up skinwalker
Minor: get the king to flank wiht Sir Ex (AH 56)

OOC: I guess I'll have the skinwalker charge the Thrall straight above him instead. I think I had the wrong map attachment open when I was figuring out what to have the Skinwalker do. Want me to reroll it or can he keep the attack I already rolled for him(+1 for charging)?

The Deva's radiant blades cause one of the tendrils to momentarily dissipate, though in a few moments the fragmented shadows glom back together once more. The attack seems particularly irksome to the Shadow Hound however, who howls with pain and rage as one of the blades opens a gaping wound in its side.

With the encouragement of Cyr and Sir Exsixten, the tattered skeletal warrior rises to its feet once more, and charges past its comrades to deliver a crushing haymaker that to the solitary thrall, making the dark one's head spin.

****

In retaliation the eyeless fanatic lashes out viciously with his shortsword, delivering a blow that nearly severs the undead warrior's head from its neck, and quickly dances away. Nevertheless, the skeleton remains in the fight, standing erect with its head dangling crazily off its neck, hanging on by only a single mummefied tendon.

The other two thralls swing their blades at Jezebel and Paerlanthas, one managing to cause some minor damage to the dead king's ectoplasmic presence. Both quickly put some distance between themselves and their respective quarries.

Hekthesh's voice then hisses from the shadows, "You fight bravely, but when the seals are broken you will beg for death before the horror of the Submerged Eye... if you manage to live that long," he cackles as his strange, razor-edged boomerang sails through the air once more tearing at the fabric of the wraith's being and reducing one of the skeletons to bone fragments.

The hound lunges for Sir Exsixten, but its jaws fail to find purchase. Frustrated, the fell creature blinks out of existence for a moment, reappearing on the other side of the canal.

Meanwhile the tendrils writhe about in the unnatural dimness of the hound's presence, striking out like whips at Ferris and Sir Exsixten, leaving the mechanical night and the beleaguered shifter with more fresh wounds.

GM: Special Rules for this Combat:
On your turn, you can as a minor action command one of the undead you've enlisted to take a move, minor, or standard action. Each undead NPC may only perform one of each action type in any given round, however. Available attacks for each NPC are listed under their respective stat lines.

Any creature that falls or is pushed into the canal will be immediately pushed 2 squares downstream and take 1d6 damage from being slammed about by the rapidly-moving water. On your turn you may use a move action to attempt to escape the canal by making an Acrobatics or Athletics check vs. DC14 to pull yourself up out of the water. Any character ending their turn in the canal will be pushed 2 squares downstream and take 1d6 damage from being slammed about by the rapidly-moving water. If you enter the current voluntarily, you do not take the initial 1d6 damage, and you may make a DC20 athletics check to resist both the push and damage effects of the current for the duration of your turn. Thus if you succeed the check, you will not suffer the initial or end of turn push and damage effects. If you fail the check, you won't suffer the initial damage effect, but you will be immediately pushed 2 squares downstream, and if you end your turn in the water you will be pushed 2 more squares and take the 1d6 damage.

All bright light within 5 squares of the Shadow Hound is reduced to dim light, and dim light is reduced to darkness by its Shroud of Night aura. Character's with normal vision will take the according penalties to attack rolls against enemies within the aura.

OOC: PCs are up!

Jezebel glares at the nearly-decapitated skeleton. "What are you standing there for? Hit him back!" The skinwalker, its head dangling against its backside, jerks eerily in the completely opposite direction of the thrall. A few moments later, it realizes its error, makes an about-face, and charges its attacker! However, the skeleton's attacks are completely misaimed and only hit air.

Although the spectacle is somewhat amusing to the tiefling, she can only spare a moment to watch before turning her attention back to her own attacker. Now that her thrall has helpfully stepped back a few paces, Jezebel has enough room to make full use of her whip. She cracks it hard against the thrall's waist, inflicting a supernaturally painful (if somewhat superficial) wound.

Deva calls again upon the power of the sky marking the eyeless servant for special treatment and protecting his allies in the process. The lightning strikes in the middle of the dark hall hitting all of his enemies.

Small amount of astral majesty is transferred to Alnar and Ferris.

"I apologize, Your Majesty, we need to take them out quickly. I still believe You should target Hektesh exclusively."

OOC: everyone, can we coordinate so that king goes after hektesh? he has darkvision, plenty of hp and is insubstantial. With the attack that can get hekthesh into the light we may finish this more quickly.
[sblock=Actions]
Imm reaction: Preservers Rebuke - +3 to hit AF 56; Alnar and Ferris get +1 to all defenses from attacks from bloodied opponents until the end of encounter.

Not sure if this hits the king also, roll as needed.

Lightning damage, if enemies make OAs TENT they suffer additional 3 damage

Move and minor: Are there any undead free to do something?
