Ah Oathbound... I've been pretty heavily involved with that campaign world this year. Something I wrote (actually I'm not exactly certain what though) made it into the adventure in the hardback Oathbound book. I wrote the adventure for Plains of Penance, which will see print in February, and then there's still an unnamed project I can't talk about that will see print sometime next year.

By the way, in case there are any freelancers reading this, I can't say enough good things about Bastion Press. They are a wonderful group of people to work with, they give you a lot of room to make a project your own, and... well to be blunt, they get their developers paid. Did I mention the overall quality of their product and the art? Ooh yeah, the art!

True Darrin. I'm glad I got to be a part of Pale Designs and i certainly can't wait to work on stuff for Oathbound. The campaign setting book is by far one of the best out there.

I had a pretty weak Christmas, giftly speaking. I only got decent stuff from my gamers:

Heroclix boosters
Dice
More dice
I R.P.G. bumper sticker
Back to the Future Trilogy DVDs
Another DVD
A little Iron Maiden Eddie figure

From the family, I got two things:

A microwave
A little George Foreman grill

I mean, yeah, I can USE a microwave, but what kinda crappy crap-crap is that? It's like socks. I've just now figured out how to live happily without one, now I've got one again. I KNOW I didn't ask for the Foreman grill thing, but I'll use it. I'm just wondering how I'll hide it if ever a woman sees fit to enter my apartment again. Oh well.

Are you kidding me Doc? The Foreman Grill is the best piece of kitchen crap to have come out of the late-night infomercial brain trust since that Stackable Dehydrator (the device my group has come to know as 'Billy's Beef jerky Machine").

A woman who hates your Foreman grill is not the woman for you man:)

$150, and $150 was sent ahead of me to college to pay for my registration stuff. That's it, save for four shirts I will never wear, cologne I'll never touch, and a calender I'd never hang up.

Then I came to Enworld, and won a book. Thank you Enworld. Merry Christmas Enworld. Happy New Year Enworld. And that applies to all of you individually, I just don't want to repost the entire member list!

my first roleplaying-related christmas gift: a set of full-sized (16mm) dwarven stones (hematite) from Crystal Caste :)

...also some DVDs (XXX, Brotherhood of Wolves, Spiderman), and a XBox.

Let's see.... What I got for Christmas.

Well, from the office Christmas party, I got a $20 gift certificate to the local movie theater.

From my best friend (and the woman I've had a crush on for, oh, going on 16 years), I got a big kiss. Hersheys kiss. Strange sense of humor, that girl. :) She also is giving me one of the three things I asked for. (I asked for a picture of her, to carry with me. I asked for a day of her life, spent with me. And I asked for snow, since it's been almost 20 years since I've seen it--and it happens to snow where her little sister lives, whom she rarely gets to see. My friend's broke, so I didn't ask for anything expensive.)

From my friend's mom, I got the 4-disc Fellowship of the Ring set.

From my grandmother, I got a lantern. And four mini-champagne-bottles of bubbles. My grandma gives good gifts. :)

From my parents, I got the standard $20 check.

Next round of present exchanges happens within the next couple weeks. (My family doesn't celebrate holidays always on the designated day. We're weird that way.)

I gave my brother and sisters gift certificates to Amazon.com. (My little sister says she may have accidentally deleted hers. That's what I get for sending them through email... I'll have to ask my brother and older sister if they've got theirs.) I gave the same to the kids of my friend's older sister. (I adore those kids...) I gave my friend some links for her Italian charm bracelet (REALLY cheap on eBay), some of her favorite chocolate, a couple Christian-themed bells, and a Christian CD. I gave her mom gift certificates to Ben & Jerry's (little Napa has one, wow!) and to a local chocolate shop (so that my friend, her mom, and older sister could make a day of it, traipsing around downtown), as well as a box of chocolate-covered truffles.

All in all, a good year. :)

Bah. I got a rice cooker and some pans... I was happy, darnit. :) But, then, I love cooking and working in the kitchen... So it didn't bother me.

The Foreman grill is really nice, btw. I eat more steaks, burgers, bratwurst, etc now then I ever did before now that I have one.

Though I'll have to disagree with billy... The best infomercial product to have come out is that rotiserie (sp?) that they advertise... The food really is as good as it looks, comming out of that thing. I have one, my parents have one, my sister has one... Christmas dinner was cooked on those (One smallish turkey, one largish prime rib, one midsized ham)... Best Christmas dinner in years. Once you get one, you will NEVER cook roasts in an oven again.
