I found this bit of pre-release 3rd edition artwork while surfing about. What is it? Never heard of a "Brawny Monster" before.

That isn't a hook horror, unless all you need to be a hook horror is hooky claws. Hook horrors are big beetles with vulturey heads.
 

That was my first impression, but i agree with Kamard. The claws are the only thing they have in common.

I think I am going to use this picture to illustrate a new demon in my game.
 

Artists doodle? Where was it found? How is this crap? Hooked Horror? Maybe artist rendition. Does it really matter, it's just pre art.
 


Well it looked kinda hook horror-ish to me when I immediately looked, but it looks as much like a cerebrilith as it does a hook horror.
 

Change the description a bit and this fits perfectly.
