Crimson Empire

What is Crimson Empire?
Set in a realm blasted to desert by a magical devastation, the quasi-Arabic Crimson Empire is but a shadow of its former glory. Splintered by wars and disasters, it is surrounded by enemies that have appeared and gathered in strength as the empire itself struggles to return to its ancient glory.
Wander through the desolate wastes between cities of the ancient Crimson Empire of Eth'Authuram, avoiding the wild dinosaurs that haunt the wastes between fortified cities. Explore the uncivilized lands of Durathast, home of the Anhiyawen - the animal men. Or perhaps you care to venture across the sea to the corsair-laden golden kingdom of Axatheum. But beware the bloodthirsty raiders and reavers of the Kraken - whose priests bring life through the ritual sacrifice of those they capture. Travel to even farther distant and exotic lands - the oriental island of Misrador, ruled by ninja clans. Or perhaps you favor the fleeting Midnite Isles which are as varied as the dreams of explorers. For the truly daring there is the wild, unexplored reaches of dragons, genies and elementals far to the north. If you dare, hunt the lost treasures of the undead in Savathuram in the far east. All of this and more lie before you, honored adventurer.
Whatever choice you desire, this 135 page book gives you the information to start your campaign in this strange realm. It contains an overview of the world of Crimson Empire, including summaries of the main races, creatures, professions (adventuring and mundane), nations, religions, associated planes, magic and secret societies of the world.
This is a true sourcebook, with no game rules, allowing you to use the roleplaying system of your choice (though we recommend our own 54 Fantasy - available as a discounted bundle).
A list of the sentient (playable) races described in the book:
- Anhiyawen: anthropomorphic humanoids, ranging from "apefolk" to "zebrafolk"
- Draemani: half spirit, half human
- Kazin ad'hudjar: dwarves, made of stone for war against the Kazin shazira
- Hellchilde: albino humans that are the children of extra-planar beings and humanity (not necessarily of demonic origin)
- Human: we all know this one, considered to be the "superior" and dominate race of the realm
- Kazin shariza: Tree spirits made flesh
- Orkan: Fierce humanoids bred by the Kraken to raid and pillage
- Mageborn: The firstborn offspring of humans who are powerful, natural sorcerers
- Nomi: diminutive tinkerers and pranksters created in unison by the Kazin ad'hudjar and Kazin shazira
- Sa'heer-jinn: another diminutive race of precocious, thrill-seeking nature spirits made flesh
- Titanborn: powerful, multi-limbed humanoids made flesh from elemental forces
- Tyres Haul: draconic humanoids who serve the dragons of Coranthius
