If this is official, my only major response is "yet another sorcerous origin that hands out free spells known?" I'm getting kinda annoyed by it. It's not like the default Sorcerer origins were particularly powerful...and all these variants with a bunch of extra spells (a ~50% increase in spells known at most levels) keep making the basic PHB ones seem weaksauce in comparison.

I truly do not know if it is official or not. I accidentally found it in google images. It probably isn't though, adding more spells feels weird.

This isn't official, it's fan-brewed stuff. Only fans fail to remember that spell names are italicized, not capitalized.

There are a few other "tells" as well, but I won't spend time picking apart someone's work just because I think their was no point to them making it unless the point was to just be more powerful than the already existing similar themed option.

Well, uh, actually both of the UA Sorcerer origins have added more spells--spells known, that is. That's why I said what I said; Storm Sorc and Favored Soul have established something of a trend. However, as AaronOfBarbaria noted, it's not formatted properly for an official doc so it's likely homebrew.

Wow, I suddenly felt less alone on my views of the sorcerer... It is obviously a homebrew, the first level feature is practically a Ribbon, and there is some awkward wording in there.

The PHB origins are very boring, and underpowered even without something better to compare them to. They show why keeping sorcerer out of the public playtest was a mistake.

I'd consider it slightly above "ribbon" status, if only because it essentially gives the character a free spell component pouch--saving 25g at character creation can be a pretty meaningful thing.

QFT. Though Tony is right--they didn't completely keep it out. They just scrapped the only attempt at it and never touched it again during the public playtest.

Not surprised to see a homebrew like that, 'Fire Mage' seems to be a popular concept.

Yeah. Honestly, I'd like an "Elemental" origin myself. Let it have largely similar class features (piercing resists to your element, frex--maybe by spending a sorcery point), with "Circle of the Land"-style bonus spells and, say, a level 7 feature that depends on your elemental affinity. Perfect for a supplemental thing that's meant to be fiddly and have lots of options, since something that voluminous probably wouldn't fit into the PHB.

Also: give the Chaos and Dragon Sorcerers bonus spells for God's sake.

A Sorcerer was in one playtest packet. It was very interesting. It was never seen again.

The problem was they went so over the top with it, showed us only one subclass, and then wizard players started to demand the toys be given to them. Not long after that Mearls & Co decided to merge all classes under the Mage and things went wrong. All the time I kept telling people this was bad news and that the sorcerer wouldn't be satisfactory, but like with Cassandra they didn't listen.
