I hope they ditch the idea of Shifter lineages, without the stat bumps they're pretty much pointless. Just put all the Shifts into the same pot, like the Aasimar's Celestial Revelations..

I'd argue they don't. Shifters are either extant ancestral precursors of were-creatures, or a genetic melange of the various Therianthropes. Neither suggests needing to stick to one kind of shift.

How would a Wandslinger or Magewright background work?

So he has already made some In his last eberron book. They both grant magical adept wizard as their feat but the mage write grants arcana and investigation i believe along with tool proficiency while wand slinger grands athletics and intimidation along with gaming. (Not with my book right now so I might be wrong. They also have a small sidebar that calls out thematic spell choices

Also don't forget when they came out in 3e you could get a feat to gain a second feature when you shifted so there is a precedent for having multiple

Is it just me or besides the Cartographier is there really not a whole lot in this product that actually feels new instead of just a new way to do the old player options?

Like instead of Dragonmark house subraces, we have Feats! Instead of Changeling, Warforged, Shifter, Kalastar, & Half Elf races we have Changeling, Warforged, Shifter, Kalastar, & Half Elf by another name species!

I'm having a hard time getting excited for this. At least give folks playable Gnolls or something. Some new subclasses maybe beside Cartographier.

At least the FR book has some new to 5e stuff.

It also includes Eberron specific Bastions and Dragonshard vehicle rules, as well as new Campaign and Adventure material. But it is specifically a booster to Rising from the Last War, not a replacement.

I hope to here more about the Eberron specific Bastions. Makes me wonder if FR will have specific Bastion rules and if so will they appear in the FRPG or the FRAG?

Since the Bastion rules are ib the DMG, I'd guess the FRAG. Wouldn't surprise me at all if there are location and faction specific Bastion options there.

I haven't seen this addressed elsewhere, but there is still a fundamental flaw in Replicate Magic Item: It lets you choose items that grant permanent benefits, like the Deck of Wonder and the Bag of Beans.
