Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: What's up next?

Not even 5 minutes ago I was thinking about a pun on the Lone Ranger - "The Rogue Ranger". I'm just trying to to figure out how to warp the Lone Ranger's parting cry of "Hi-ho, Silver - Awa-a-aaay!" into something along the lines of "Hide Yo' Silverware? - Too La-aate!!!"

" Hide your silver - AWAAAY! "

My Ranger is NG and has been casting spells since 1st edition....thanx.
What can I say, except... welcome.jpg

Sorcerer next I suppose.
Doubling up warlock and wizard makes sense as well. Those have both seen a lot of love, and will likely receive fewer new subclasses.

No idea what they'll do for the sorcerer. Nature spirits? Something Eastern? And undead bloodline?

I can think up like 12 sorcerer subclasses off the top of my head; in terms of potential stories, they are the least realized class by a huge margin.

I can see Warlocks getting some serious attention, would expect them to be separate from Wizards, so I'm guessing three more weeks for this.

- Undead has already been covered im the Shadow bloodline

- Giant bloodline

- Serpent (Yuan-Ti) bloodline

- Generic, less flavorful Championesque bloodline

- Fey bloodline

- Celestial bloodline

- Fiendish bloodline (maybe two, for Demons and Devils)

- Genie bloodline

- Elemental bloodlines (Air already covered by the Storm Mage, so ip to three here)

- Construct bloodline (cyborg sorcerer, gramma was a Modron)

- Far Realmsian bloodline (ancestor was enslaved to Things Men Was Not Meant to Know, rubbed off a little)

Well, yeah. I've written/ published something like three myself on the DMsGuild. But WotC isn't playtesting the big, obvious choices since how we feel about those will be obvious. So were not likely to see stuff like fey, fiendish, dragon, elemental, shadow and the like. Not unless one has a really funky mechanic they want to get more eyes on.
They'll go with the oddball choice where they need more feedback.

Good Rangers Should Only Play 2nd Edition.
TWF? No thanks. When 2E was released, the horrible Ranger class is one of the main reasons I "officially" continued to run 1E, despite mostly using 2E rules. I'm not sure what was put in 2E, but it sure wasn't a Ranger.

Good 2nd Edition Players Should Only Dual Wield.
