I might have called for Animal handling on the snake pit thing, but these seem fine to me.
I try to let my players choose which skill to use - I'll just go with what they suggest, or change my decision if they say "hry how about this instead? - so I'd go with either Animal Handling or Performance, or instrument proficiency, or even Persuasion or whatever.
I try to be lenient so that as many options as possible remain, uh, possible.
I agree with everyone who has contributed previously, these are perfectly reasonable things to rule on.What do you all think about these situations?
1. I allowed the witch to charm one of her comrades in order to counteract the Snake Queen's charm on him.
2. I allowed the ranger to use his skill in performance and nature to lull a pit full of snakes into a hypnotic trance with his lute.
