Amazing Tales from Centropolis

Brandon spends the night in his room. Around midnight there is a soft knock on his door. He is sitting at the computer failing to learn anything useful about the villains who might be working with Doctor Apocalypse. "Yeah," he calls out. His mother opens the door and walks in. "They canceled school for tomorrow. But that doesn't mean you should stay up all night."

This is not what he was expecting her to say and he looks blankly at her for a moment before a dismissive "Yeah, I know" escapes his lips.

His mother kisses him on the forehead and says, "Goodnight." She turns and leaves.

Brandon wakes and finds he has overslept. It is after 9:00. He turns on the TV and flips through the local stations. He gets an excellent view of Centralist Plaza from many angles. He sees how the area is cordoned off. It suddenly hits him that this is real. People are going to know Princess Starlight. He is going to be seen by all these cameras. Hopefully he will be a hero and he will not be able to claim the glory.

These thoughts plague his mind as he dresses and goes to eat breakfast. Brandy is in the living room. As he passes through, he hears her muttering, "Where is she?"

Not wanting to disappoint the Centurions (or his sister), Brandon sneaks off to the boat house as soon as he can. Before he enters, he look south toward Upper MainTown and can see all the helicopters circling Centralist Plaza from his estate's canal side shore. He ducks into the boat house and transforms into Princess Starlight.

The Princess flies low above the canalway until she is a couple miles away before flying up and approaching the Upper MainTown from Little Russia. The amount of helicopters in the air as she approaches the Plaza is nearly a flying hazard. She crosses into the inner ring of helicopters at around sixty miles per hour. Brandon can imagines the squeal of glee made by his sister as The Princess notices a bunch of cameras swinging around to catch a glimpse of her arrival.

The Princess lands in front of Centurion Tower and walks in. She walks up to the receptionist. "Hi, remember me? I'm here to see the Centurions."

The same receptionist from last night is still on 'duty' but she appears to be alone. Raising an eyebrow she nods to Princess saying "Of course. The elevator is unlocked for you to get you upstairs. I am not sure if anyone is up there right now. Human, Inc. has a secure underground bunker that those of us who volunteered to stay until the last minute... Good luck."

Invisible, Kitsune picks out a atop the Centurion Tower itself...not in the building, but ON it, perched far enough up that the city was in a sort of glorious IMAX-esque panorama around her. Here, she ate some breakfast and occasionally held up a pair of binoculars to look through. It was a little odd for her to use them, since she didn't use her eyes but instead sort of focused on seeing the light that was coming through the binoculars. But hey, it worked.

She was still close enough that she could get to help quickly...but had a wide enough view that if there WAS something going on elsewhere in the city that this stunt was just covering for, she might have a chance at getting a look at it.

That was the hope at least.

"Thanks." The Princess says. She enters the elevator and rides up to the 31st floor.

"Hello?" she calls out as she steps off the elevator. She wanders into the rooms she had seen yesterday hoping to find someone. But it appears everyone is out. She asks no one, "Where are they?" as she clenches her fists, her arms locked straight at her side as she stomps her feet. After her tantrum, she tosses her hair back behind her shoulders and returns to the elevator and tries to press the roof button. But the security system won't allow her to go to the roof. So she goes back down to the lobby.

"I was hoping someone might have left a note. Oh well. I'll find them outside." She says to the bored receptionist.

Exiting, she takes off landing on a building directly across the plaza. She chooses one about 30-40 stories tall with a good view of the plaza.

The hours slowly tick towards noon as the heroes wait on the respective hidden locations. Their AEGIS earplug radios crackle every now again as various law enforcement agencies give status reports and all clear callout. Everyone is on bated breath and the wait is quite grating.

Finally at twelve noon CST there is a crackle from an near panic voice from an AEGIS agent "Contact! Radar contact! It just appeared on our screens 80 miles over Centropolis!! Its huge!!"

Less then two minutes later a huge figure appears in the skies above you heading for Centropolis Plaze at super sonic speed. Its shape takes form within second... its a three armed giant robot!!! Huge jet burn bright as it crashes to the ground just outside the circular plaza itself, smashes into the ground and smashing the C-line elevated line running down the middle of Central Street. The crash of the giant robot shatters the windows of many of the nearby buildings and sends a tremor that jolts the area at least several hundreds of yards away, setting off hundreds of alarms and cracking the streets around it.

"DESTRUCT SEQUENCE ONE. ACTIVATE. DESTROY PLAZA AREA. DESTROY ALL BUILDINGS IN AREA. DESTROY ALL RESISTANCE. DESTROY." boom out from robot's massive speaker system. The central eye on the robot's head starts to glow with a yellowish inner light as massive power builds within!!!!

[sblock=Giant Robot]The robot is about 120 feet tall.

GM: Initiative and Actions!!! At present the robot does not seem to notice any of you. Centurion Tower is four blocks away so about 500 feet from where the robot is. Outside the cordoned off area is about 1,000 feet. Anyone around the Plaza is within 100 feet of the robot

"Oh, poopies," Princess Starlight moans. With a knee lift and wave of her arms she announces, "Radiant Blazing Laser Beam" as a bolt of energy streaks toward the robot. She then flies upward 100 feet so that if the robot retaliates, there won't be collateral damage to the buildings behind her.

Silver Streak runs down the side of his building, up the back of the robot's leg, and over as much of the robot as he can manage with 1 mile of movement, looking for access/maintenance panels/hatches.
