Me too! My FLGS sold every single one they could get, in preorders, and they got a lot and called in favors to get more, all sold out before shipping. Their even larger standard cover order is sold out too. It went fast.

My FLGS said the same thing when I got my special edition copy yesterday. They originally were only going to get a very limited amount (both regular and special editions), but managed to talk their way into getting a few more. They hadn't received the extra regular editions and were down to only two of the special editions at the time I purchased mine.

My local chapter of Amazon got none in the allocation. The closest LGS selling D&D is laughably bad at communication, and the second closest -and nicest- one completely dropped off the radar. It no longer shows in the store locator, it could be they closed for good. (It doesn't help that in the current circumstances going to another state just to see if a game store is still there is not a good idea)
So, here I am, awaiting for my copy to pass customs.
