Dungeon #98, new 3.5 rules!

Second interesting bit, a 1st lvl Bard has "Inspire Courage +1" One of the new changes for bards, though not sure how it works still.

This could be cool. A bard's Inspire Courage now scales? Maybe another +1 every 3 levels or something? Makes Inspiring something worth doing for more than just the early levels.

Blight Desert? Is this just a typo and it really is the Bright Desert? If not, where is the Blight Desert?

You sir are correct, it's a typo and the article is actualy on the Bright Desert.

Into the Bright Desert - A very extensive write up with maps on the Bright Desert in Greyhawk, along with a new monster: Norker a type of toothy goblin with tough skin.

Norker was in 1st edition Fiend Folio

Gun Fu basicly lets you make a tumble check every round as a free action. Prereq's are Personal Fire arms proficiency and combat martial arts, Tumble 4 ranks. There may have been a BAB req, but I dont think so. I'm at work so I dont have access to everything right now, though my memory is generally pretty good :D

And actually, despite being small, it was a closer cousin to the hobgoblin rather than to the goblin.

A quick question: Is the skulvyn a Tanar'ri demon, or a bland generic demon ? In other words, does it have the tanar'ri qualities (Immune to poison and electricity; cold, fire, and acid resistance 20; can telepathically with any creature within 100 feet that has a language) ?

A Tumble check to do what?

The most common use for Tumble that I've seen is moving through threatened areas, and then it's part of the movement. It really doesn't make sense otherwise.

As far as I recall (until I get home in 2 hours) thats all it does. I think they were trying to simulate some of the Matrix lobby scene moves, but mechanically it changes nothing. Tumble checks are a free action generally.

The idea is that it provides an additional Tumble check as a free action. A normal Tumble check can be performed as a Free Action ONLY when part of a move action; if you've expended both of your actions per turn, you are granted one additional use of the Tumble feat. So, for example, you can attack, move 20 feet and Tumble past opponents normally; with Gun Fu, you can do that, and then may Tumble past opponents once more time (up to 20 feet) thanks to the feat.

It basically increases your movement range as long as you are only wielding pistols and are using the Tumble feat in the process. Cinematically, it represents some of the John Woo-esque gunfights where you have the hero rolling across the backs of his enemies, diving through their legs, rolling over boxes and sliding down rails, etc.
