These look like the ones I had - but I wish I could remember what the boxes looked like - but alas I was 12 and not big on saving things.

I think I've read that the B/X and BE of BECMI were similar, buy I never flipped through the later. My B/X boxes died decades ago, and my books are held together with ancient layers of tape.

I looked - the Basic book I have is the 1981 edition of the Moldvay rules - and since that Expert set box looks familiar, I am assuming my long gone Expert set also was this one. I did acquire them in 1983, however, not 1981 (I wasn't playing yet then).
