D&D 5E 5E Survivor - 5th Edition Survives! [+]

BECMI Dungeons and Dragons 23
Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, 2nd Edition 21
Dungeons & Dragons, Rules Cyclopedia Edition 0
Dungeons & Dragons, 5th Edition 20

Another one gone! We now have our top 3!
And they are all very close! I hope 5e wins it because to me it's been the best edition (rules wise) I've ever played. If 2e wins I'll be happy still, it was my first.

It's interesting (not surprising so much, but still interesting) that we have ended up with a final three which represent the three big branches of d&d - od&d, ad&d and wotc.

I wonder - do people think that these are the "best" (in at least some sense) of each of those lineages?
(Somehow, I would expect the ad&d branch to be the most contentious there. Am I wrong?)

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, 2nd Edition 20 - 2 = 18
Dungeons & Dragons, 5th Edition 19

In the spirit of being a + thread, while I never played 2E it certainly did solidify the ruleset of AD&D compared to 1E. For example, it got rid of the monstrosity that was Comeliness (introduced in the original Unearthed Arcana and repeated in the 1E Oriental Adventures). I mean sure, many groups threw out Comeliness once they figured out it was a (imho) totally messed up seventh stat, but 2E made it official. :)

Cheers :)

Edited for spelling, cuz I cannot today.

I had 4 I have been voting for (2 now gone).

B/X from OD&D that got me started. (Is that very similar to BE of BECMI)

2e that I think I enjoyed more than 1e, but with similar spirit.

Pathfinder that I enjoyed with several non-optimizer groups that never went too high level and loved a lot of ideas from.

5e that seems to be somewhere in the middle.

At least until they brought it back in Skills and Powers! Okay, not the best example.
