(ot, kinda) enworld gathering at gencon(sign up to share a cab, offer a ride)

The big place to go after GenCon each night was a little place called the Safehouse. Using EW as a marketing tool and promoting a gamer friendly atmosphere might be a real boon for your brother's place. Is it near the convention center? LI usually has a group of 10-15 people of drinking age with us at GenCon, if it's close by we could make it the place to go. We could make it the official EnWorld hangout if Morrus or Eric would sanction it (maybe even a banner?) What's the name of the place?

For better or worse, it's in the Castleton suburb (at the mall), but I don't think it's hard to get to from downtown, maybe like 8-9 miles, a tad farther than the airport, about where I-69 and I-465 meet.
I am kind of thinking about going to GenCon but I'm still investigating short summer vacation options. If I do go people are welcome to motorvate up with me. I may be commuting from Lafayette too.

If we have enough talented souls who can play bass/guitar/drums, maybe a pickup band could be assembled? Just a suggestion - other than singing, my only other instrument (taiko drums) doesn't really fit with a bar band. :)

Well I... oh.... TALENTED. Nevermind.

Count me and my wife in! I am very lucky in the fact that I do not need to be back to work until Thursday (I work long rotating shifts, it's complicated but sometimes it works out) so I won't be heading home till Monday morning. This sounds like a blast! I am up to running Munchkin, Space Munchkin or a combo game too.

the name of the place is "p.s. o'rourkes" and tarchon has the directions down pat.

as for marketing it, he wants me to take a few :) flyers down to gencon, and he is a gamer friendly guy, altho he ahs never played :)

we may be able to have a band set-up available if folks wanna play (tarchon-don't be shy, drag that giant bass cc) but my brother is allergic to karaoke :D

The fastest way to get to p.s. O'rourkes would be to take I-70 to 465, then take that north to the "Allisonville Rd" exit. The Castleton Square Mall is right off that exit, and O'Rourkes is off of 86th St.

(for those who don't live in Indy and need detailed directions ;) )
