I heard Majel Barrett Roddenberry and James Earl Jones recorded a series of phonetic syllables to use their voices for projects in the future. I guess some of the artificial voices uses in tiktok, YouTube videos, and commercials are a similar thing. I've heard odd pronunciations in them also. I can't stand those boner pill commercials with the fake voices. You'll hear ums and auhs sometimes. I guess vocal fry is added in to be more "realistic".

One more thing from the video on vocal fry, Finland. Someone needs to have a chat with Finland. They showed a few examples in Finnish media. It looks like an epidemic.

I'll share the video. They have some clips many years ago showing vocal fry on the likes of C.S. Lewis, George Sanders. It's fascinating, but the fry is annoying.

I don't know how wide spread it is. I'm hearing stories of douchy guys wearing fake ICE jackets trying to scare and intimidate people. You can buy them on Etsy apparently. Hopefully the fad will fade quickly. Stay safe out there.

There have been LEO impersonators for goodness knows how long, rarely by good people IRL.

They'll be few and far between. Act alone.

Actual ICE agents are wearing masks and not properly identifying themselves. No one knows who's real or not.

These impersonators are posting videos online. That only encourages others to do it. In my mind it's more dangerous I guess. They're more emboldened by the current political climate.

You’re not wrong- there’s a difference in motivation. These impersonators aren’t predatory violent criminals, they’re antisocial & bigoted.

I'm sorta in the same boat. No group for years. No local game store. I'm also looking. It's not easy finding a group these days. I have a really odd work schedule. The time that would be best for me is when most people are getting up and out to work. AND I don't have days off. I can commiserate with you.
