Thanks for the answer! Miro looks like a great tool.

You mention your players enjoying the act of rolling dice, does that mean that you played offline or did you use video conferencing as well?

Miro and Discord, I have no issues taking whatever numbers my players tell me and considering how often they go “bad news guys, I got a 2 there” it seems to be working well!

That's awesome that you have players like that! I did ask one of my players and he said, "The only thing is that I'd miss is being able to see the other players die rolls and partaking in the excitement of that, especially in tense situations."
 

The first episode of Age of Umbra was tonight. The Critical Role reddit had a live thread going while the game was streaming and a lot of people commented on being reluctant about the combat system, even as they watched it.

A few comments about the episode really stood out for me. The Daggerheart combats took about the same amount of real time as their 5E combats. A reminder that they've been playing D&D 5E basically weekly for 10 years and they've only played Daggerheart a few times. And a reminder that once they get used to the new combat system it's probably going to go much, much faster.

That all has me really excited, to be honest.
 



The fact that the creators of this game are directly borrowing core gameplay mechanics from the Apocalypse World/Dungeon World/Blades games without a single mention to market it to a 5e audience really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

It has been mentioned constantly in the lead up videos, and is prominently spotlighted in the actual book.
I stand corrected. I only read the SRD and its not in there. I take it Dungeon World was snubbed specifically because of the problematic co-author so fair enough.
