This fully-illustrated, 700-page Forgotten Realms setting guide describes routes adventurers can follow to reach the furthest corners of Faerûn, Kara-Tur, and Zakhara. The guide also details hundreds of cultures and regions found in those lands, and it provides new character options appropriate for use in those settings.
The journey begins with a 30-page overview of the world and its major trade routes, followed by optional guidelines for quickly selecting a character’s culture. The guide then describes over 100 unique cultures, each of which can be chosen as a background in place of the standard background options appearing in the latest version of the Player's Handbook.
In addition to information about cultures, deities, regions, and trade routes, this guide includes an appendix with over 20 new and variant species options. The appendix includes options for all ten species appearing in the latest version of the Player's Handbook, plus options for the elemental-themed genasi species and for goblinoids of all sorts.
The background and species options included in this guide are based on material drawn from dozens of historical Forgotten Realms products and are updated for use with the latest D&D core rulebooks.
