Happy Haggert Hurried Hungry Hitch Hiking Hired Henchmen Hivers.... apply within

I watched Demolition Man today. When they wanted to switch to manual driving they called it self-drive. Now that we have cars that can drive themselves we call that self-drive. I hope it doesn't get a remake anytime soon. It's a classic that should stand alone.
Next thing you know, they’ll start calling self-driving cars, trucks & vans something like “auto mobiles”!

Not sure if you're trying to be sarcastic.

Seriously though, I thought it was interesting how the term had different meanings less than a generation later. Especially since it's still in our future

I have noticed that certain things WITHOUT remotes sometimes respond to them nonetheless.

For instance, we have a nightlight in our den/breakfast nook area near our dog’s water and good bowls. And we noticed that using our universal remote to change our TV’s volume will cause it to flicker.
Perhaps I've given this too much thought. Is the remote infrared or radio frequency? If infrared could it be producing a flashing the nightlight sensor picks up but you can't see? That's assuming the nightlight has a light sensor to turn the light off when brighter lights are turned on. Another thought I had is the TV is causing a surge in the line as the volume is adjusted.

I didn't want to go on and on about the company Wyrd in the TIL thread. The rule book for their Malifaux miniatures game is only 65 pages. You can download it free from their site. I'm not sure if the miniatures game uses cards also but the RPG uses cards instead of dice. I've noticed a number of games are going that direction. Household's game system does, but their 5e conversion uses dice. I like that they have a miniature game and an RPG in which you can use the miniatures. They look like can be used for any Steampunk game, especially if they're LSD induced nightmare Steampunk games. lol

I looked around to see if this one was posted elsewhere. Two Little Mice is the company behind Household. This one looks like it would be as good. The project is coming to an end very soon. Less than 12 hours.
