Goodman Games is preparing to crowdfund for Castle Whiterock. It sounded familiar. They published it before. I have a copy of the box set. It's for 3rd edition. So the new project will be updating it to DCC and 5E. Usually if you have the money you can get both versions but most times you have to choose one or the other. Now I'm trying to remember when and where I bought the previous one. I bought a bunch of Goodman books when they had a sale getting rid of 3.0 material because they were supporting 3.5. At Dragon Con one year they had a booth and on the last day a lot of stuff was being sold cheap. I must have gotten it from them directly either at the booth or online when it was on sale.

A word of advice, if you have a convention in your area, go on the last day. The dealers and exhibitors will have DEEP discounts on everything. They don't want to take it with them. I haven't tried, but if you're a good negotiator you might be able to get an even better deal. Okay that's a lot of words of advice. 😆

You’re absolutely correct. I’ve gotten deep discounts at different consumer conventions as I was leaving on the last day. Money in hand ALWAYS weighs less than the merch you have to pack up in your vehicle.

I remember walking out of a gem show and getting a set of very nice clay poker chips in a metal carrying case for 75% off that way.

I was getting $15-$20 books for $3 and $5. I should go to anime conventions on the last day. Anime on disk is so expensive.

One year at the Ren Faire a leatherworker knocked $30 off a pair of bracers for me, and they were only $80 to start with...
I always check out the vendors at Comic Con and the various other conventions, since there's usually at least one guy with buckets of cheap Clix figures I can hack up for kitbashing. One time I stopped at a guy's table as he was starting to pack up and he just dumped the remains of one of his bins into a bag for me and charged me $15. It was close to 50 figures.

I have a terrible new affliction; backing crowdfunding projects. It's not that new. I've done it for years. 😅 I backed the new Cypher system edition. Yesterday I got a link to download the Cypher Character Rulebook. It's just a text file. There are headers and footers with notes where images and tables will go. It's kinda neat. A look behind the scenes. It has chapters for creating characters in different genres. Real world, fantasy, sci-fi, superheroes. I assume the gm rulebook will have similar chapters on how to run in the different genres. A line I thought was interesting, the GM doesn't roll any dice. The players do all the rolling. It looks like in combat the GM doesn't roll to hit, the player rolls to dodge. This seems weird to me.

My previous modem was so old I honestly don't recall how long I was using it - five years? Seven?
I had this current one sitting around for almost five or six months before I finally got around to hooking it up yesterday.

Ye gawds what a difference, lol.

Lately I've been getting character ideas for Star Wars: The Old Republic...

My latest character is a satire of Bo-Katan from The Mandalorian...

Female Body Type 1 in the game is very slight and somewhat shorter, almost like a late teenager (it's how I got my "droid" character to look like a Pixar robot). I dressed it up like a Mandalorian, but dyed the armor pink and white, and switched out the lower half for a pink skirt, bare legs and pink boots. It looks like a child wearing its parent's armor for a Halloween costume.
I chose the Bounty Hunter origin story (of course) and named her Bo-Peep, and her "sheep" is a Wampa companion that's literally more than twice her size...

My next character is going to be along the same theme as my blue-skinned Chiss Sith Warrior, Chokey S'murf...
I'm making a blonde female Chiss in a white dress named S'murf Fett. Although it sort of goes against the character theme, I've already got two other Bounty Hunter characters (plus, see below), so I'm thinking of making her an Imperial Agent.

After that, I'll make another Bounty Hunter - He'll be Male Body Type 4, which appears either bulky or slightly overweight (I used it for my orange Twi'lek Smuggler, O'omh Paloompah) depending on how it's dressed... I'm dressing him up as close as I can to a Fat Elvis costume (there's even a pompadour haircut in the game), but with a Mandalorian helmet... He's going to be Bubba Fatt.

(And yes, my sense of humor has occasionally gotten things thrown at my head, lol...)
