Sure, but the process by which Wikipedia and AI obtain their information are very different - they will not necessarily progress in the same manner. Also, while overuse of online resources such as Wikipedia may have compromised peoples’ ability to remember basic facts, I worry the use of AI will compromise peoples’ critical thinking, which I think is a far worse problem. Perhaps I’m just being a cranky old man.
Once upon a time leeches has a lot of errors when used in medicine, and people didn't make a lot of noise how you couldn't possible trust it. And people used it anyway, and lots of people died, and people stopped using it over time.
Eh, I don’t really care whether it’s good. Its quality isn’t my issue with it. I want it to be ethical.
Fun fact that has nothing to do with the conversation, but is still a Fun Fact: We still use Leeches and Maggots in medicine. I remember my first time with a patient having leeches used and my first time getting a patient with medical maggots. It's trippy.
