This encounter builder provides a smooth scaling of the encounter building multiplier when increasing numbers of monsters or player characters. Just type the level and number of player characters at each level and the CR of monsters and the number at each CR. The spreadsheet calculates the encounter difficulty by XP as well as the alternate PEL method.

The spreadsheet accommodates up to 8 characters and 15 monsters.
