Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

@ Mark, Plus you seem to be totally forgetting my first 3 words quoted, "Uh, very successful,..." So yeah, my prediction was very spot on. Now I might change it to "incredibly successful" to be even more "spot on", but they say hind sight is 20/20 for a reason.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

We see what their creativity can do every month, in many products. From AP's, to stand alone adventures, decks of cards, maps, to full rule books that are better written and better organized than their ancestors were. Which all adds up to a lot of fans doing a lot of "back patting", because it...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

Your a business man, you know darn well your whole success is based on how much your consumers buy. They buy enough, success! They don't, going out of business.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

Well, as much as I love Paizo, and like buying Pathfinder (despite not playing or running, or even wanting to) I have to disagree. There is a lot of "the rest" that I like, a lot. Such as Traveller, Aces and Eights, CORTEX, C&C, Legend of the 5 Rings, Dresden Files, Eclipse Phase, Cthulthu Tech...

    Margaret Weiss gets Marvel license

I've only seriously played the old CORTEX, stand alone, not as part of some license, and enjoyed it a great deal. Not sure of CORTEX+ since I haven't even looked at it, because I want it stand alone, not as part of a license. But this license will finally get me to take a look at CORTEX+, and...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

Once upon a time White Wolf out sold D&D with their Vampire RPG, for several years, IIRC. Only Pathfinder has any concrete evidence of outselling WOTC's D&D as an RPG, and only then for specific quarters, not a whole year. Plus the only reason Pathfinder is not D&D is because the name on the...

Holy sheepdip - wotc to republish old editions

If this ends up being true I can say I would definitely buy such products.

Gencon News and Updates Thread (with links!)

Well, they have several things that interest me. The board game, the mini's skirmish game, and as always, the tiles and maps.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

In fact, I would say all indicators say we seriously under estimated their success.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

I was pretty spot on, I am deleting part of my quote to avoid sparking any edition wars: "Uh, very successful, ...delete... They will sell very successfully as long as the consumers buy it. So the real question is how big will the 3E market be, and how long will it stay big enough? That will...

    L5R character sheet i made.....

IT lloks good, and after putting in some quick numbers OpenOffice seems to like "running it" too! Hopefully I'll get a chance to use it to generate full characters soon. Have you shared this over at AEG's site yet?

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announces More Details about Minis Line

The paint jobs actually don't bother me, most can be greatly improved with some simple dry wash techniques. Which I can do myself.

I might bite on the non random packs done later. Have to wait and see.

Since I am sure they would add more content, I'd likely buy it too, despite having the full original set, in print and PDF.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announces More Details about Minis Line

The same reaction Paizo is getting from me, I am not buying. I'll stick with metal mini's that are not random. A little pricier, but I get what I want, and when they finally do get painted they look far more awesome than the plastic pre painted.

    First Purchase?

Neither do I, but I still mine them for rules ideas and I seem to always end up reusing the old adventures. Guess I should point out I have yet to "run" the old games, but I have played them. I have been thinking about running an OSRIC game, but haven't even asked my players if they are interested.

I have found there is such a thing as TOO much gaming...

I gave up watching TV and didn't fill it with console gaming, I filled it with RPG gaming. During the day I do farming and charity work, when we have time we do family stuff. Like last Sunday I notified my GM I wouldn't be at the game because we could finally afford to go to the movies, which...

I have found there is such a thing as TOO much gaming...

Yeah, my kids are now old enough to be doing their "own" things, and driving themselves there. Except my 15 year old. He still does a lot of his own things, but he has to have me or his siblings drive him. His main interests are Astronomy or going "caving" or going digging for rocks. Plus we are...
