I was getting ready to defend the Wizard subclass as I prefer psionics not being a class unto itself- psionics as a class has never been done well in any edition IMO. But on reading this I do agree that Thought Form is horrible. Psionics should be subtle until perhaps much higher level.

Stop fudging your attack rolls or giving your monsters inflated attack bonuses. Then well armoured player characters will take less damage.

The impact would be that far less players would play humans at all. That for me would ruin a lot of the role playing aspect of the game since humans are the most relatable characters, for obvious reasons.
