What effect might the death of these gods have?

Exactly - though the sun shines quite brightly, as he is the only one who didn't fall. Though, that certainly brings to mind a thought - perhaps he is shining too brightly, which accounts for the presence and expansion of a desert where there wouldn't normally be one, which also ties in nicely...

What forms do you use while DMing?

I use very few forms when I am actually behind the screen. But I use LOTS of them when I'm planning/world-building. They have helped me to articulate a bunch of different things about my world - the gods, in particular, and some of the secret organizations. As for in-game use, I really like...

    Unwritten Rules

1 - Do the Math. For example - Wizard Hit Dice progress at a rate of 1d4 / level. Their fireball spell progresses at a rate of 1d6 / level. Don't be surprised when you ground-zero a fireball and obliterate yourself, even if you only rolled average damage. 1b - Do the math before your turn...

How far do you travel to game?

I generally drive from the San Francisco area out to Stockton or Folsom to game, which is either 90 minutes (Stockton) or 3 hours (Folsom). I have a player that flies down from Portland OR, though, to play in that same game. pretty wide-spread group, actually.

    Would you allow half-races?

Give a hoot, don't pollute... or we'll tear your arms off! ;) My campaign has half-elves, and a small number of half-orcs. I can see the two races - humans and elves - being compatible, and the precedent is certainly there in the source material... (Arwen and Aragorn). My next campaign...

    Decanter of Endless Water

Empire Mine in Northern California, during its operational period, pumped between 18000 and 21000 gallons of water out of the mine per minute. When the mine stopped operations, it took (I believe) 54 days to fill up to the water table level. Now, at 367 miles of tunnels, Empire Mine is bigger...

Do you have clocks in your game?

Sundials are the norm - it's a sun-god based society. Also, clerics of the sun god, and others with the turn undead ability, are mystically aware of the exact moment of sunrise, noon, sunset, and midnight.

    Unorthodox Ranged Combatants

Great Creativity, Mediocre Rules DISCLAIMERS This is not a playtest review. I received this product for free as part of Thele's contest series, and agreed to review it as a favor. OVERVIEW On the whole, this is a very creative product with some severe mechanical issues. I think parts of it...

Do you read non-RPG fantasy novels?

Interesting - that's exactly what I think about Robert Jordan. Some of his world ideas were brilliant - the way magic works in his world, the magical door path thingies, the dream world - but the writing has just been atrocious. I gave it up after #4. jtb
