DarkMatter D20: Drunk Southern Girls with Guns ... UPDATED - 8/18/05!

Sadly, I'm only reporting the insanity the PC's came up with. They were SUPPOSED to hide in the church, find the keys to the bus, climb out on the roof, real Night of the Living Dead stuff. But no. When given a choice, my lads will always find the most incendiary way out of a situation. This...

    d20 Modern and Spycraft

Yes, if I didn't have three Christmas deadlines rushing in at me, I'd write it up in Story Hour, helluva time. A bunch of the D20 Dark*Matter players. Denis was Furio, the hitter on loan from Lucky Luciano who acted as Captain Texas' driver. Yeah, you read that right. What, you think they...

spycraft with more then three people

I ran a pulp Spycraft with 4. I think the key to a larger group is to figure out the character roles, not the specializations, then multiclass to your heart's content. There'll be some overlap, so most people can hop onto seomthing immediately rather than waiting around for the one and only...

DarkMatter D20: Drunk Southern Girls with Guns ... UPDATED - 8/18/05!

NIGHT OF THE CATTLE MUTILATORS Pt. 8 The Agents and Deputy Shea stepped out into the blazing desert sun – but already, long shadows crept from their van, betraying the approaching night. Jo raised her face to the daylight and gulped the cotton-dry air greedily. Open space, no maggoty soup, no...

    D20 Modern and Dark Matter?

You'd have to throttle them back a little inpower -- maybe increase the subdual damage (it's VP in the rules, but you get the idea) by 1/3 or up the DC onthe really cool aggressive stuff by 5 or 10. The thing I like about skill based is its ability to be tweaked like so.

    d20 Modern and Spycraft

Well, I'd say the SRD gives you a good idea if you know what you're looking for in game mechanics, but I'm not getting into the middle of this one ... Just ran a pulp 40's Spycraft game last night. I've run a couple Dark*Matter d20 cobbled-together games, all based on pretty much what I'd...

    D20 Modern Campaign Ideas?

Wow, better and faster than I would have done it. I think the most fun in mucking about with the system will be adapting various magic and psionic systems and power levels for such hybrid fantasy campaigns. "One moooooore thing ..."

    D20 Modern and Dark Matter?

The skills are fine. The Alternity system was the root of d20, so it's not a tough conversion. I have a disagreement with Burst being WIS based (huh?) and I'd tweak Autofire, but otherwise the d20Modern combat rules are spiffy. The trick would primarily be the psionics FX. I am ... not...

    D20Modern - Harry Houdini shafted!

It's not bad. If you're picking the lock it's an easier DC -- and in my early mucking about with magic days, I learned to do it with a big-ass Safety pin to a low DC lock without too many "ranks". If you're just wiggling out, that takes some skill and practice (and unpleasantly dislocated...

DarkMatter D20: Drunk Southern Girls with Guns ... UPDATED - 8/18/05!

D20 Dark*Matter: DSG with Guns, Zombie Toddlers and Bad Aliens UPDATED Once again, streamlining for compression's sake. They saw the crack, but a.) It stayed on the same level as the zombies, which was plainly not a good idea (and would have also required the zombie slalom) and b.) plainly...

Challenging my high-lvl group (NPCs and monsters; my players shouldn't read this!)

First time I've swung by here. That ... dragon. I'm DM'ing the next campaign, and I actually have to say -- I couldn't do that to them. Sweet. Lord.

The Adventures of the Knights of Spellforge Keep

The bear of this story hour is that I have to keep going back and rereading the whole thing to get into the spirit of it every time you update. Great as always.

DarkMatter D20: Drunk Southern Girls with Guns ... UPDATED - 8/18/05!

A wee bit of fudging here, to cover two beats I missed int he previous chapters. Denis did a computer search of the local law off his laptop and discovered the story of missing Timmy and his brother, but that only gave them the context to help them trust the deputy. The Hoffman Agency also...

DarkMatter D20: Drunk Southern Girls with Guns ... UPDATED - 8/18/05!

NIGHT OF THE CATTLE MUTILATORS Pt. 7 “What was the word I was looking for?” Johanna thought. “Oh, that’s right – AHAHAHAAAAAAGGGGAHAHHAGGAHAHAG!” Denis raised his own gun. “Hey, that’s what I was thinking too!” Jo and Denis backed away as forty shuffling undead sloshed through hip-deep...

    Favorite Female NPC

NPC that I'm tossing at my party very soon: Lady Gillian of the Iron Throne, fourth daughter of the Lord of Vesh, Intelligence agent. Rogue/Monk detective for her father. Or,as the inimitable Johanna has put it: "Kung Fu Agent Scully."

Wait, how did papa-laz skate by and now I'm the troll-er? First off -- man was I cranky last night. That'll teach me to post at 5 a.m. when I'm fighting insanely bad studio notes. Wizardy, forgive the snappiness. I'm just damn sick of the whole "wow, you're so lucky you get to make a living...

Yes, I kind of picked that up during my twelve odd years of stand-up comedy, 200 live shows a year in front of averaging 300 - 500 drunk, angry people. Try not just eliciting some emotional responses from an audience, but precisely the correct emotional response -- and the identical emotional...
