    Minor Rules Questions/Thoughts

I believe the next whining issue should involve the serious threat of Gnomes punching themselves in the face so they can turn invisible and steal from the market.

    Minor Rules Questions/Thoughts

Yep! It's in the teleportation section on page 286. It requires LoS, but not LoE.

Really, No PC Gnomes! Stop Asking!

You can't play them because there are no racial feats listed! Gnomes should have access to the same disappointing racial feats that the other races got! Here's one: Sneaky Mending Daily * Healing Free Action Personal Special: You must be bloodied to use this power. Effect: Gain temporary...

Drow overpowered again? (and some other racial discussion)

The Drow did get some pretty cool encounter powers, particularly since one option gives combat advantage and the other one blinds (which also gives combat advantage). There are some definite Sneak Attack possibilities there.

    Eladrin racial modifiers

+2 to Dex and +2 to Int.

    D&D 4E 4E feats: impressions

It totally lets you fight with two weapons... Just not at the same time.

    How to gain Combat Advantage

A rogue in my group had good success with this. He would move as close as he could, throw a dagger, pop an AP, and throw another one. Softened up some of the tankier mobs and nearly killed the squishy ones. After that first round, most of his sneak attacks came from flanking and (rarely)...

    "Charging provokes attacks of opportunity."

I'd say that your first interpretation is the correct one. The way it is written in KotS is rather poor. There is no reason why charging should provoke an OA from the target, but there are plenty of reasons why charging should provoke OAs from the creatures in the path of your charge. Yet...

    Fighters Combat Challenge

Technically, they're not OA, just basic melee attacks. I made the same mistake earlier. Anyway, it's not really that big of a deal. Defenders are supposed to tie up melee combatants and keep them from moving on the squishier party members. Handing out attacks if people move seems like a good...

    Deft Strike and OA's?

Very true! They are basic melee attacks made as immediate interrupts, clearly. I'm not sure how I could miss something so obvious.

Which all classes can "mark" that we know

Rangers have Hunter's Quarry and Warlocks have Curses. Those can sort of be considered marks. Also, anyone who multiclasses into Fighter or Paladin picks up their marks (w/ more limited use). Multiclassing into Ranger and Warlock picks up Quarry and Curse. And don't forget that, in terms of...

    Deft Strike and OA's?

The fighter from KoTS is allowed to make opportunity attacks against shifting adjacent baddies (or baddies who attack someone other than the fighter) but it doesn't say that these attacks prevent the actions that triggered them.

    Warlock - Shadow Walk

He's basically got it, though I think that concealment grants a +2 to all defenses, not just to AC. And I think it does have to be 3 squares away from a target to get concealment. Moving forward or sideways didn't cut it in either of my DDXP games. Also, both DMs allowed teleportation powers...

Jason Bulmahn Speaks about DDXP(His take on the system)

Regarding the swinginess of the system, Jason hit the nail on the head. Whereas he breezed through his games, I got TPKed in both of mine. Mostly, this was due to two things: 1.) The loss of a party member. This one is pretty obvious. In one game, we lost both of our defenders, and in the...

    Chaos and Law are IN!

I hope that Neutral stays in. And when I say Neutral, I mean "a philosophical opposition to either (or any) extreme." Before, Neutral was in the uncomfortable position of representing two different alignments--a dedication to maintaining the middle road or a total lack of concern with...

    Ranger's Careful Attack house rule...

From my experience, it isn't really that overpowered in play. Maybe a nerf of 1 or 2 on the to-hit, but anything more than that would make it pointless.

    Diagonal wonkiness scenarios

Not having to recount long or complicated movements is well worth the minor impact on realism, which I forgot about almost immediately anyway. If you really miss 1-2-1 diagonals, you can show solidarity by making sure that every other diagonal move you make is around a hard corner.

    The Unstoppable Black Dragon

My group got TPKed by the big mean dragon. Our ranger insisted on playing by 3.5 rules (not shooting into melee, for one) even after being reminded of the new rules. Hence, he was totally useless in the first two encounters and died by charging into melee in the third encounter. This...
