PKing between PCs; do you allow it?

I'd have to say I agree with ARandomGod on this one. I don't stop the players from doing anything. It has been made very clear that the world responds to the actions that happen in game either that their characters do or NPC do around them. They get no special treatment other than what they...

Mourning the loss of my familiar

If by chance the DM allows spells out the Relics and Rituals book, you always use the Greater Familiar spell to get another one. Anyway just a thought. I don't see the reason for the year and day thing myself since animal companions can be replaced with a 24 hour ritual, and paladins only have...

GMs: Do you change the colors of your dragons?

I removed the always from the alignment and explained (at least to me for now until the players figure it all out) why certain dragons tend to fall within certain alignments. But it can never be taken for granted how a dragon will be or even what it can do. My dragons also gain class levels in...

Incorporeal creatures and the dreaded 15ft thick wall

I doubt I would go with the idea that a supplemental book supercedes a core rule book as not everyone uses all the books even if they are WOTC. If the MM says the same as the MMIII then that would be better source but if they disagree; I can't check at the moment no books handy, then whatever...

D&D 3E/3.5 Any 3.5 books that have a list of poisons in them?

Better to read the in game definitions to fully understand what Patryn is alluding too. Hope that helps. Lawful is not legal or mean follows laws, but is sort of a misnamed aligment, same thing with Chaotic. One of the biggest misunderstanding in the history of the game. :D RD

And if they wouldn't nudge the DM in the right direction at least it could help nudge the player to the door. I for one, if and and when (rare as it may be) that I get to play I like playing spellcasters and would be looking at making items for myself at least. Removing those rules or saying...

That's what make it sooooo much fun! Who likes to stay on topic all the time? I agree with both you on this one. I have a lot of house rules to help make things better or make more sense, but I too have noticed the impact at times as Nail with them. Sometimes everything goes just...

I would too. It would require up to two skill checks however, one for Arcane Spell Casting Ability and one for Alignment if they didn't match the robe color. I have no problem with that since by the skill use magic device it is something that can be done, but without such a skill it is quite...

An item like the Cure light wounds at will shouldn't even show up before 12th level in my opinion if it was to be allowed at all. Cost should prohibit it at lower levels. Agreed, as a DM you have to make the game fun for everyone without going into some power trip but ultimately the game is...

Actually if you check the text on the robe not just anyone can don it and gain the benefits. Emphasis mine of course :D So without arcane spell casting ability you gain nothing from the robe. With the incorrect alignment for the robe you gain negative levels. Only Bards, Sorcerers and...

Challenge Rating mechanic balanced? This I really don't see nor agree with, too much problems there. :D I seen that break down too many times during play to make me second guess it be correct, balanced or even reliable to judge game balance by it. RD

Very true indeed. Although when they are out of spells no matter how much healing they have they are going to run into trouble sooner or later. Boils down to style and choice. But like I've said and agreed with very overpowered*. The Ring of Shocking Blow is like 18,000gp, three times what...

It was a +1, but does the plus of a bow add to damage in 3.5E? I can never remember and never adopted that change at all, but I thought it bow's plus to hit and arrow's plus to damage, if so, the magical bonus from the bow wouldn't cause damage. However, just looking Sword and Fist, I noticed...

This I tend to agree with as giving feats and massive skill ranks tends to lessen the choices the character makes. Actually the range given in Arms & Equipment Guide was 5,000 to 30,000 for feats. It is not Core rules, but it is WOTC supplement. To use or not is choice as is everything. RD

I guess my opinion about what is overpowered or a no-brained item is little different. I don't see the bow of true strike as either. One it takes a standard action to activate the true strike, then you only get it for one shot the next round. That is one round of doing nothing to the...

If there was a clear spell to use in core rules that would provide the +2 Caster Level vs SR enhancement bonus I could easily work that into the formula's in the excel sheet I created but with no clear path there I went with a feat cost. I don't like the method of pricing feats this way either...

True, but then again they don't really have examples of discounts not stacking and in this case you almost need to make it work. :\ That's why to me the "rules as written" is only guidelines to give my players and I a common ground to work with, it may mean house rules, but as you said...

If multiple discounts apply why wouldn't you apply them? And if you only apply one which is more important when you have more than one? In this case you have a restricted alignment[G,N,E] and class ability[Arcane Spell casting], which is more important? Hard to say in my opinion. :D RD
