Advice on running high level adventures

This bit a DM's butt one time. My mage Magnus was always throwing fire spells left and right. Especially Fireball, when he made scrolls he was making Fireball scrolls. Well the DM prepared an ambush for us in the capital city, our enemies knew me as a fire mage. They were not prepped for me...

    PCGen 5.12.0 released

How good is the release working with the 5.10.1 releases of Code Monkey LST files? I'm getting ready to play with it some. So as soon as it's done installing itself onto my flash drive, I'll load those LST's in as well. Yeti

Dungeon and Dragon submission guidelines are up

Happy Anniversary! And here's to many more. ==================== But on a much sadder note, I never got any rejection letter. *sniff* *sniff* ..... O wait a minute, I didn't submit anything.      ---------------------- But a more interesting question...

Should WOTC participate in the ENnies?

Why not let them? Heck considering how much I spend on RPG's from WOTC products alone, I would most likely pay more attention to any product that gave a WOTC product a run for it's money. Also, it lets the lesser knowns compete directly against the '800lbs gorilla' better known as the industry...

    DC/VA/MD ENW Gameday [Cleveland Park, October 27 @ 9:30]

Would definitely be interested in this. As much as I would like to volunteer my yard, I got 3 issues, wife, dogs, kid. Wife she likes to supress my inner geek. Dogs, all larger breeds and tend to bowl people over with their affection. Kid he would be easy. Just tell him everyone is bringing...

DM Prep Work Leading To Burnout: Help?

Do like our main DM. Take a few months off to be a player. Let the others try a few one shots. Never know one might take off for you and become a full fledge campaign in itself. It also allows you to try new concepts for characters. Such as the main DM is a player in my game now where he is...

    Alternatives/compensations for paying XP?

The splitting the cost method is the one I offer my players. Personally as a player, I much prefer the splitting of the XP cost, as I will more likely pick up craft feats vice hoping for a Magic-Mart.

    Long Spear = Awl Pike?

Just add the feats from Dragon 331 pages 22-28. You can then attack adjacents, and many other fun things with pole-arms. Note: When using these feats - Never give an Ogre a Reach weapon coupled with Monkey Grip and an Oversized Pole-Arm. The results are devasting to any creatue hit. :uhoh:

    Long Spear = Awl Pike?

I forget the battle off the top of my head, but it was on the History Channel a few months ago on how the phlanax fighting with the long spears fell out of favor. Head on they were nigh undefeatable, but a quick flanking manuveur left them vulnerable to attack, as they could not wheel around...

What do you want to see in the final issue of Dragon?

Now back on track. 1. An awesome cover - perhaps one where the collassal red is dead with the fighter standing over him. 2. Anything by Gary, would love to see the eulogy by him. 3. No Sage Advice for this one. 4. Stats for the legendary Gary characters as mentioned before. 5. The Wizard's...

    LGS in Arlington

Didn't know about that one. Thanks. :) Compleat Stragiest is one I only recommend when you have a specific item you want. And you called ahead and asked if they had it. To put it in simplier terms, my wife (non-gamer) would rather me drive out to Game Parlor vice going to the CS store as she...

What do you want to see in the last issue of Dungeon?

Bargle is the Mage from the Red Box set where a good many young player got their start. It was a self-Solo adventure in which you ran yourself through much like a choose your own adventure style. Bargle is the Mage who killed the lovely Cleric you run into in it. Many a DM expounded Bargle...

What do you want to see in the final issue of Dragon?

So out of 7, you have eliminated 2 from being there with the final statement. And I do believe someone mentioned Elmore earlier as being a likely possiblity. 2 of the remaining 4 are Gary requests, so a fairly good chance of one of them happening. Though my money would be on 1 page...

Dungeons & Dragons: Is anything essential?

Well if any do I can gurantee them at least 6 sales. Cause when I buy some stuff that I use regularly that is off the beaten path as far as books go, I buy a set for my group. Last Christmas I gave them Valus (written by an EnWorlder), they now have a campaign in it that I run.
