Well, upon reading the hideous blow description closely, it has the caveat that the melee attack does not need to deal melee damage - but then if only the eldritch blast damage applies , I might as well just not even use the whip and blast away... But I am still curious about the theoretical...

Will my planned warlock be able to apply hideous blow damage to his whip and have the blast deal lethal damage ? What about to targets with high enough armor bonuses to normally negate the weapon damage ? What if the whip also had a crystal of elemental assault on it (MIC + 1d6 elemental damage)...

Artificer infusions on the focus, maybe ? Other than that, spells that duplicate things like that - energy weapon, undead bane weapon...

I know that most Clerics I have made have just gone the straight cleric route. It always seems to be the best choice at the time.

I would look at the races of stone substitution levels for a gnome illusionist. They are, in my opinion, the best racial sub. levels out there. The 1st level option effectively lets you cast all the major illusion spells as a whole level lower - ex. major image becomes 2nd level and silent image...

I used it also on a NG mountain orc druid with a huge str. it worked well. EDIT : i guess I should elaborate - it enforces the fact that you can build a melee oriented druid. However since you only get a bump to str, you cant make it a dump stat.

As I read it, I dont think it is as easy as getting someone to break it - You have to physically do it. I would adjudicate it as a standard action for the wielder.

the one spell I am most glad is on the beguiler list is solid fog. When you can cast it, make sure you do. It shores up a few of your weaknesses and lets you escape what you need to.

It seems some are using "class substitution levels" and "alternate class abilities" interchangeably. They are not the same thing. I not aware of anything that is a "class substitution level" - only racial sub. levels.
