Worm that Walks - Why not undead?

Thanks for your responses, I really dig the insights. There is certainly no d-earth of help here. I can always find the dirt I need on these boards. Everyone here is bury helpful. And I'm not done mud-dling around yet. :D Now, before I finally lay this thread to rest, I think I'll...

Worm that Walks - Why not undead?

The Monster section in the Epic Level Handbook is just awesome. While there are lots of gems in there, one of my absolute favorites has to be the Worm That Walks. I was considering using the worm as a villain in my non-epic game, a "spontaneously" formed worm that walks created from the...

Psychic Warrior in Scarred Lands? Ideas?

I've essentially, copied everything that has appeared on this thread so far, trying to boil it down (deciding which directions to take). However, it is becoming clear to me that the Scarred Lands would greatly benefit from a Psionics supplement discussing how psionics comes about and the...

Do you use Intelligent Magical Items in your campaign?

Intelligent Items? Sure! Intelligent Players? Well... In a previous campaign I was in, another player had an intelligent axe that she always bickered with. I loved watching their interaction so much that as soon as I started a campaign, I gave a slight variant of the weapon to one of my...

Psychic Warrior in Scarred Lands? Ideas?

Thanks for all of the ideas/clarifications. I'm holding out for my copy of RRII because I had a few things in it, but it is really tough waiting because it is such a great product (based on my repeated quick skimmings in the game shop). The psychic warrior is travelling with a Chardunni cleric...

Psychic Warrior in Scarred Lands? Ideas?

Oh and I will! Bwahahahaahahaha I was just looking for ideas on how to better justify their existence given "canon" on Scarred Lands psionics (of course, I didn't have the chance to read RRII in total... yet). Actually, a firedrake nearly took the psychic warrior out in his first adventure...

Psychic Warrior in Scarred Lands? Ideas?

I just started a Scarred Lands game today. The players made up characters and one of them decided he wanted to play a psychic warrior and a half-orc one at that. I agreed, because I am interested in learning more about psionics and this gives me an excuse to give the book more than just the...

Bow of True Arrows (SnF) for 6th level character; good idea?

Ah, while I was writing that last post, I see that a few people cleared up the trigger issue. Thanks for the assist. It seems that I need to do some more reading before I seed any more items. :D Thanks for the help!

Bow of True Arrows (SnF) for 6th level character; good idea?

The text states, "This +1 mighty composite longbow stores the true strike spell, which the wielder can activate with a spell trigger (as with a wand)." My understanding is you can use a wand every round, so I would assume the same for the bow. Even if it took a full round to activate each...

Bow of True Arrows (SnF) for 6th level character; good idea?

One of the characters in my game is a Rog3/Sor2 who is pretty handy with a bow and is working towards becoming an arcane archer. The party consists of 5-6 players, each at 5th level, almost 6th. When designing the next adventure, I was looking through cool items to include and I came across...

Not too late at all. I checked out the site and I've already been in contact with at least one gamer through the site. Thank you very much for posting the site and I suggest that others check out the Bay Area Role Playing Society page too.

    What happened to d20gurus.com?

I don't know if this is the right forum, but I was curious about what happened to the website, www.d20gurus.com. It has been missing for about a month now.

literary campaign settings you'd like to see

Short list: Brust's Jhereg books - I have only read the first two so far, but they are great. The smoldering racial frictions, the frequent use of resurrection and teleport magic, the division between witchcraft and sorcery, dragon familiars, need I go on? This is how a high magic world...

I am the aforementioned gentleman. My wife and I only recently moved to the area. I recently took the CA bar, but I won't get my results for 4+ months so in-between job searches, I have some free time on my hands. My wife games in my Thursday night game in Concord (We live in Pittsburg)...

    I killed my wife's character!

Resolution That is pretty much what I did. I told her that I had posted for ideas and told her what some of them are and how other gamers thought things she be handled and gave her the option of creating a new character or picking up where her character was last time and playing out the...

    I killed my wife's character!

I appreciate all of the advice/suggestions/criticism, keep it coming. The ideas of playing out her afterlife experiences and dealing with an undead-taint have potential. My wife is huge Buffy fan and she has already been saying things like, "I am not sure my character would want to be returned...

    I killed my wife's character!

I can only agree with you because she doesn't read these boards!:D Actually, I find that my game-side manner has changed a bit since my wife started playing. Every now and then, I find myself calling her by the pet name, "Hun"... ... as in Atilla the...! (But seriously, any advice?)
