Question about the entry for goblins in 2E

Can anyone tell me if it is any different than the entry in the original Monster Manual? (If possible, and if it's not violating any laws, I'd love to see *just* the goblin entry as a .pdf -- my contact info in profile . . .) (Basically, I'm interested in the progression/devolution of the...

When you're gone for five years, stuff posted in the last year counts as recent. :]

GAHH!! Time to take a break from 3.5

Unknown Armies . . . I know it's the wrong genre, but you really need to look into Unknown Armies. Full title: "Unknown Armies: A Roleplaying Game of Power and Consequences" Good, good stuff.

An objective, unbiased look at the problem with elves.

I think some of the splatbooks increased the twinkiness. Plus, the racial slurs against the goblinoids remain in the MM, don't they? Not to mention the atrocity of hobgoblins being an ECL +1 race. My concern is that with 4E, the minor progress that's been made will disappear . . .

An objective, unbiased look at the problem with elves.

Given the recent elf-related posts, and in the interests of self-aggrandizement history, I present to you the original, poorly edited, extraordinarily immature April Fool's Day post I made around five years ago on what one might call The Elvish Problem. It was lost in the Great Server Crash of...

The problem with elves take 2: A severe condemnation [merged]

I agree. Elves suck. And you just KNOW that goblins are going to get shafted in 4E. I may have to try to do something about that . . .

The problem with elves (question posed)

Damned straight they did. Little bitches . . . PS -- I can't find my elf rant. From what I read elsewhere, apparently it disappeared in the server crash. Don't suppose anyone's got a copy laying around?

    Forrester's Against the Elves Campaign

And that is why your people still live in caves :). At some point you'll learn that if you don't hang together, you'll hang separately . . . of course, Foleful's insane "I'll split up from the party and follow this guy!" didn't help. Quote of the night: "You know, I just didn't expect five...

    Forrester's Against the Elves Campaign

T-minus 5 hours. Getting close. I think the party is still torn between sticking together and fighting to the death and individually running in every different direction possible in order to save their own petty little lives. Very, very interesting.

    Forrester's Against the Elves Campaign

One has fallen. We're a session report behind . . . actually, two session reports behind now, as we just met again last night. Not looking good for Team Putrid Humanoid Scum. Not looking good at all . . .

The Knights of Ill Fortune (or the Chronicles of Kale, Agent of the Empire)

Re: Re: Re: Re: More! More! More! I dunno. Ever since he tripped over his shovel and landed face-first into that giant pile of manure (in which his face lay submerged for over five minutes -- talk about your lack of oxygen to the brain), Duh just hasn't been the same. But look at these...

Kinda changing rules without telling players.

Yes, I suppose if you wanted to be the Best Damn Teleporter in the realm, you'd be out of luck :). But that's a pretty silly example. I mean, obviously, if there's something that's completely Core to a concept, I'm going to let them know any changes ahead of time. Case in point: a player in my...

Kinda changing rules without telling players.

Umm . . . huh? They can control how their character progresses just fine, for the most part. (Though I'm never going to let a 13-year old orc barbarian take a level of wizard out of nowhere.) They can plot plot plot away, but that doesn't mean I have to give them specific and exact spell and...

Kinda changing rules without telling players.

First, I want magic to be, well, a little more magical than it is commonly in 3E. In other words, a first level wizard (that is, the *character*) doesn't have complete access to the PHB. He may know that teleportation spells exist, but not offically What Level they are, etc. Second of all, I...

Kinda changing rules without telling players.

Ehhh I disagree. I don't cotton to the whole "I shall plan out the advancement of my character 19 levels in advance" school of character creation. I think it's fair to warn them two or three spell levels in advance, but I certainly don't feel obligated to warn the 1st level sorcerer about...
