    Review of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Thank you, Jürgen, it's far too long since I read those.

How far do you travel to game?

Not sure about miles, but it's about 90 minutes each way.

    Players: Your Dream Campaign?

A Transhuman Space campaign, focussing on questions of identity/ontology and related ethics, with grey areas that are grey enough for players to disgree about what is right. Lots of intrigue, and scope for ingeneous roundabout solutions. Conflicts other than physical combat (e.g. publicity...

How do you like your combat?

This mostly refers to GMing -- the game style I get as a player is largely pot luck, my likes and dislikes are fruitless. I mostly play traveller. I like combat to happen about once per session, sometimes more, sometimes less. I like it to scare the bejazus out of players, who go out of their...

T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

Act VII: The Pay Off - Onward Bound Date: 283-993 Imperial. Location: a nice restaurant, Sentry System (0921). Six days on Sentry, back from the salvage, and it was time to touch base with each other. The swapped stories and laughter over dinner, and then it was time for business. Luan reeled...

T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

Act VII: The Pay Off - All Over Bar The Looting Date: 269-993 Imperial. Location: abandoned freighter Vraidercalt, Kleister Beta (uninhabited far binary companion white dwarf), 069-526 System (0721). The clouds didn’t like electric shocks one bit. They didn’t like being sprayed with a paint...

Act VII: The Pay Off - Vraidercalt Date: 269-993 Imperial. Location: abandoned freighter Vraidercalt, Kleister Beta (uninhabited far binary companion white dwarf), 069-526 System (0721). “For a place with artificial ‘gravity’, it sure is hard to stay on the ground.” Maelcum enjoyed a rare...

Found the fun in gaming again

...whereas I find the opposite. Sitting in the bar, fellow PCs start a fight, we have to leave town quick, and that's another place we can't go back to. The next time the five Russian space marines come to our table and try to start a fight with our three non-combatant PCs, could we maybe buy...

Do you reequire your players to think?

I require them to think about how they're going to get out of the adventure alive and successful. I try to avoid avoid game mechanics that require the sort of OOC number crunching you described.

Traveller T20: Tales of the Bray Keaven [Updated 12-20-05]

So does that make one missing crewmember, one surplus giant lizard, and a bunch of unexplained injections? Ah, the perspective distance will give.

Which campaing would you like to play in?

Looking over this thread, and the variety of tastes and priorities, my heart leaps at the range of people playing RPGs. Then I think: "You usually play with the particular guys in your group because of location and timeslot, not because of tastes in gaming. Oh dear."

Which campaing would you like to play in?

I'll usually play Traveller, but not an outright merc wargame. One of the things I like about Traveller is that it's a game where sensible people avoid combat. My limit in that direction would be something like Twilight 2000, where you're dealing with locals and other small groups and there's...

    Greyhawk CS Wish List

1 Better maps, with explicit boundaries and locations of roads. 2 No stinking metaplot or timeline advances to overwrite my campaign assumptions once a year.

Your opinion about very small PDFs

If a PDF is small, I'd rather the publisher reduced the price than padded it with irrelevent/inutile/inferior material. There's enough useless waffle in the industry already.

Clever man. I read the first five. :( I don't really read fantasy anymore.
