    Frenzied Beserjer's Inspired Frenzy Questions

Hmm, this is a good one. There's no really clear answer, although the *strictest* translation would be that Inspire Frenzy says that you grant the allies the benefits of frenzy, and that's a specific ability, separate from Deathless Frenzy. I personally would run it that way, if for no other...

Question about Gestalt campaign and racial levels

I'd say consider them as base levels. Racial levels don't really seem, to me, to be much like prestige class levels, and if you have a character with lots of racial levels, it makes it harder to build towards a PrC that you also want. Just my .02

    Speed of an arrow?

Sadly, the game mechanics don't really explicitly take situations like this into account . It's very difficult to guard/protect something unless you're good at grapple, usually, for example. Technically, in the rules, there's *no* way to do this, but your base idea seems good. I'd say...

    Min-maxing your weight limit

Argh, thalmin beat me to my point.... ;) Yeah, what's up with that, you say you don't care much about encumberance, but they do. Then one of them ends up in an argument over 2 lbs of boots. I don't get how this is possible, since it sounds like he could just "ho hum, doo dee doo, new boots...

Hide from Undead advice and limits?

Hide from Undead is a bit of a tough one, because of the way it's put together. The Will save and negation of (Ex) and (Su) abilities that would normally allow you to detect invisible creatures puts some spells in question. For my part, I would say that Invisibility Purge or See Invisibility...

    Fear causing HP-loss

Hmm, it would appear we profoundly disagree ;) I think the myriad possible alternatives and effects you can achieve during the game are what makes the game so great. True, the single most effective way of ending an armed conflict situation is to reduce the opponent's HP, but then, it's...

    Astral Projection and Mind Blank

*looks up from fire* Eh? Speak up sonny, my hearing's not what it used to be. Old, your ruling is, older than time. From another day, indeed.....ancient.... Of course, it may be that it's in the MotP or something, and it's just *me* that only remembers it from 1e/2e. It was there...

    Fear causing HP-loss

Um, I imagine they more redesigned the psionics because the whole six-stat thing was unworkable and sucky. But, maybe that's the same thing. ;) As far as your 'recalculations' thing.......I see where you're coming from, it is a lot to manage, but it's already a major part of the game. Ray of...

Blur + Displacement + Mirror Image?

I'd say you've got it about spot-on. That's how I run mine, although really, Displacement shouldn't displace the images. Displacement would only affect the main caster, since *not* having it affect the Mirror Images wouldn't necessarily ruin the Mirror Image spell, or make them look different...

    Knowledge Checks (monster info)

So the guy with Knowledge(Undead) in your game has no better chance to identify something *as* undead, and as a *particular* undead, than the guy with Knowledge(Dungeoneering)? That seems irrational. The undead researcher should be able to more quickly ID undead, no? And I'm not sure what you...

    Knowledge Checks (monster info)

Ok, this is quite unreasonable. Different Knowledge checks give knowledge of different creature types. That's how it's designed. If he has +15 Knowledge(Arcana) - Constructs/Dragons/Magical Beasts, and +5 Knowledge(Dungeoneering) - Aberrations/Oozes, then he has a better chance to ID a Golem...

Vampire energy drain and LA question

Ok, um............ I'm not making this up. :p The monk entry in the 3.5 PHB says that the monk's hands count as natural weapons for purposes of spells and effects that affect natural weapons. It mentions Magic Fang and other spells, as a matter of fact. The vampire template entry in the MM...

    2 Gestalt players

You've hit it right on. Big multiple-opponent combats can be killer. I play in a couple of campaigns with Gestalt characters, and have to say from my experience, they're *really* powerful if properly built. The actions per round thing is a limitation, true, but depending on what they choose...

Vampire energy drain and LA question

Where do you get that unarmed strikes are not natural weapons? The monk description explicitly states that the monk's unarmed strikes are natural weapons, and the vampire template says they can use energy drain with natural weapons.

[Player's Guide to Faerun] Summon Undead???

Har. I'm actually a big FR fan, I just figured this would attract the usual "stoopit overpowered FR munchkin drizztt garbage!" comments. :p Hmm, 4HD. My RttToEE game just got a lot less challenging.....oh well... ;) I understand our confusion now. I was kind of under the impression the PGF...

[Player's Guide to Faerun] Summon Undead???

Greetings, FR-haters! Time for a bone* My group and I have recently noticed a bit of a discrepancy with some new spells from the Player's Guide to Faerun, specifically the Summon Undead series. Since I don't have the book in front of me, I'll give you the example from the other night: Summon...
